We are not mind readers - what are the OS and InDesign versions?

Most likely - your document is corrupted - you should do IDMLing - export as IDML, open, save with a new name.

Please read my post about the difference between Save & Save As:

I've moved your post from Adobe Photoshop to Adobe InDesign.

No, it does not happen to me.

  • Are you filling out crash reports and including your email?
  • Does your computer meet or exceed the system requirements for InDesign?
  • Have you reset Preferences?
