Indesign crashes when I try to select-all and move to a new template

The guides I have set up disappeared from my document after the update, so I'm trying to select eveything on each page and move it to my saved blank template that has the guides. Every time select all on a page and try to copy or cut, Indesign crashes. 

Tried clearing preferences, but the problem persists.

It's possible, that your document got corrupted. 

 

To fix it: 

 

1) you can try IDMLing - export as IDML, open, save with a new name - DO NOT overwrite your original file,

 

or

 

2) create a new, blank document - best would be if you make it the same page size and with the same margins - then move ALL pages from your document to the beginning of this new document - save it with a new name. More info here.
