rob day nope, not whats going on. This is a live AI file, built from scratch, not a PDF that has been opened.
BobLevine I am attempting to copy and paste the working elements from the AI file into INDD to resize a series of ads. I've never experienced any issues with doing so until this update rolled out and I regularly perform such function without any of these errors—this has been noted by my coworkers as well. SOMETHING has changed with the software.
There has been no change in behavior between InDesign versions (CS6 vs. CC2017 vs. CC2018) when copying and pasting text from Illustrator - it no longer remains as text when pasted into InDesign.
As mentioned above, copy-pasting is not the recommended method to bring in elements from AI into ID - it is best to save as AI file and place in ID.
You could also use CC Libraries to bring in text from Illustrator into InDesign - just drag the text element from the AI document into the CC Libraries panel and then drag it out from the same panel into an ID document.
