hallo,

i'm trying to work in indesign ane learn it. I have a problem with text tables - the text which is too long for the cell is overlaping. I'm trying to get few lines in one cell but i can't find what i'm doing wrong.

As often, the OP must have done and "did something" totally unexpected. Looking at that image, all I can think of is the text leading got set to a fixed value of 0pt. (Now why would anyone do that?)

    Hi canoniada,

your screenshot is showing a rather unusual thing.

Please put your text cursor in the cell, press Cmd + Y ( Mac OS X ) or Ctrl + Y ( Windows ) to show the Story Editor window and let us look into the cell's contents.

    Hi canoniada,

the reasons for text overflow in table cells could be manyfold.

    Just to name a few:

    1. Fixed height with cells. Too "much" contents.

    2. Point size of the formatted text is too high so a single word cannot hyphenate and will block all text following.

    3. Paragraphs in cells are formatted to align to the document's or the text frame's baseline grid.

The grid will not fit the height of a cell. So no text can make it to the cell.

    And a zillion more reasons…

To suggest anything useful to help you we need more details. Best export a sample text frame with a table to an IDMS file and post the link to the file via Dropbox or a similar service.

Screenshots could help as well, but not as much as a sample document. Hidden characters should be showing, also the cell's attributes like insets, width and height. Also the text's attributes like point size, if hyphenation is enabled etc. pp. Also a view on the table's cells contents with the Story Window to see what part of the text is not showing.
