Hi @marty2015  and everyone,

Thanks for continuing to share your updates, and I’m sorry the issue is still occurring. I wanted to share the latest guidance from the product team regarding the Undo/History behavior in Adobe InDesign.

Please review the detailed findings and logging steps shared here:
https://community.adobe.com/questions-671/indesign-21-2-undo-greyed-out-and-history-panel-blank-on-macos-tahoe-and-ventura-1551926?postid=7543173#post7543173

The team is actively investigating this issue, and the logs requested in the thread are extremely important in helping identify the root cause. If you’re experiencing this behavior, please share the requested logs and details at sharewithID@adobe.com, via DM (to me), or directly here on the thread so the team can analyze the behavior further and work toward a resolution.

As a temporary workaround, reverting to v21.1.0 or restarting InDesign/macOS may temporarily restore the Undo functionality.

Really appreciate your time and support on this. I’ll keep you posted with any updates.

Abhishek

Hi @iosefa,

Sorry to hear about the issue. This typically occurs when the document is closed. Did you happen to close the document or experience a crash? For more information, please visit: Undo History Panel in InDesign.

Hi @iosefa,

Thank you for sharing the details! Could you let us know:

  1. The version of InDesign you’re using.
  2. Your operating system (e.g., Windows 11, macOS Ventura).
  3. Does this issue occur in all documents or only a specific one? What about newly created documents?

Also, have you tried resetting your preferences? If not, you can follow the steps here: Reset InDesign Preferences.

Let us know how it goes!

Best,
Abhishek Rao
