12.1 Lightroom freezing and delaying with every edit

Please help. I was editing fine a few days ago, and all the sudden my lightroom classic (mac user) is unusable. Every click freezes or delays the edit. I can't work. 12.1 version. What is happening?!

Try resetting your Lightroom preferences:

Quit Lightroom Classic.
macOS: Press and hold the Shift + Option keys.
Windows: Press and hold the Shift + Alt keys.
While holding down the keys, launch Lightroom Classic.
When asked, select "Yes".
