"An internal error has occured. Failed to process photo" error message when trying to use Topaz AI

I'm trying to use the Topaz AI plug-in and after researching I've failed to find an answer that works for me. I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, deleting the .plist files, turning off antivirus/firewall, and giving it full disc access (this last one stumps me because it doesn't show up in the list to even allow this). I'm stuck and have about 100 images from a wedding that really, really need the sharpening and RAW denoise features of Topaz. I literally don't know what else to do. I've troubleshot to the best of my abilities.. Any other help would be great ....

"giving it full disc access (this last one stumps me because it doesn't show up in the list to even allow this)"

If Lightroom Classic doesn't appear in the list of apps granted Full Disk Access, then it doesn't have full-disk access.  Follow these exact steps to grant it full-disk access:

Have you contacted Topaz support?

Yes - they told me to try allowing Lightroom full disc access. I'm wondering if maybe editing in Smart Previews has something to do with it? Idk I'm stuck. I've tried every troubleshoot option that I've found.
