Question

Computer Freezing

Hi

Since latest Lightroom update - it starts normally, but after some actions it suddenly freezes.

Moreover - the whole computer is freezing (Windows) including Alt-Control-Del.

I am forced to hard-stop the computer.

Any idea?

MOVE (don't delete) the .lrdata files when LR isn't running, open LR; does it still crash?

Dear
Thank you for advising to reset the presets.
Unfortunately this did not help.

I am getting (after re-booting by hard buttons) my computer that crushed a
message in Lightroom that says:

"Lightroom encountered an error when reading from its preview and needs to
quit"

Then it quits, and when I re-start lightroom (classic) it looks normal but
in the next time it crashes (the whole computer) again.

I changed the placement of the cashe file, but this does not help.

Please your advice
Thanks

Try resetting your Lightroom preferences:
https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/setting-preferences-lightroom.html
Also see: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/important-steps-for-manually-resetting-preferences-omitted-from-help-article/td-p/12972518

Quit Lightroom Classic.
MacOS: Press and hold the Shift + Option keys.
Windows: Press and hold the Shift + Alt keys.
While holding down the keys, launch Lightroom Classic.
When asked, select "Yes".

Hi

Thanks for your answer, but this did not help. However, I found out that others had issues with their GPU. Therefore I followed some options (switch it off and On, and "reset" LRC for not using it and re-using it). This helped, and now LRC is working fine.

Thanks a lot anyway
