Folders missing in LrC catalogue on initial install

I am installing LrC on my Windows 11 PC, this is my initial install.

I have run the Import function as described in the online instructions, to create the catalogue.

No filters are on, include subfolders is ticked.

Over 300 of my folders have not been picked up in the catalogue process.

My folders are mostly labelled in the format "yyyy mm dd", plus a few folders with random names. None of the folders after "2021 10 09" have been included in the catalogue.

Why are they not included and how do I get them into the catalogue?

I can't see your screen capture, you have to include it using the "Insert Photos" icon and not by attaching files.

Nevertheless, the problem is most likely this: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-bugs/p-windows-panel-is-limited-to-1600-items-folders-keywords-etc/idc-p/10854636#M49564

Solution: Make hierarchical folders, for example 2024/2024-01-01, collapse parent folders not needed at the moment (like if you need 2024 folders, collapse 2023 and 2022 and ... )

This sounds like it could be the issue.

Actually, I had been thinking of grouping folders by year because it is all getting quite unwieldy. I'll do a bit of restructuring then try again.

I didn't see an option to add a photo rather than a file. I'll keep it in mind to look closer if I need to post again.

Thanks for your help. I'll update later to confirm that this solved the problem

I don't know what this means, to me it is completely unrelated to your earlier post and has no context.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Yes, it was challenging enough to even find where to post my question.

Thanks for your help
