Question

How/where can I get some help regarding the transfer of LRCC pictures to LRclassic?

Hi everyone I keep posting again and again regarding this but I cannot get any valid answer. Is this the right place? How can I get help from adobe to which I am paying a monthly fee for basically nothing as I cannot get anything to work properly and no help about it either?...

I did the most stupid thing as I started to use LRCC for a year long project and been stuck with it ever since. Now that the HD on which I keep my pictures is full it all turned into a living nightmare as I cannot go any further in my work and need to switch to LRclassic to manage my HDs which is impossible to do properly for 2 reasons:

1. Even if I specify the location to which I need the 500gb of pictures to be synced from LRCC to LRclassic  in preferences/lightroom sync "specify location for Lightroom's synced images" to my external HD, LRclassic keep saving those files on my Mac hd in Mobile Downloads.lrdata. The problem is my Mac hd has 40 free gb only, so why can't I synced to another drive? What am doing wrong? Is this a bug?

2. The pictures are synced without the editing work that was done on them which represents countless hours of work. Are those not supposed to be synchronised as well? Is this a bug as well?

Please I really need help with this as I cannot keep working until I have solved this matter and move my work to LRclassic. Or could anyone please tell me where I can get some help with these questions?

Many thanks in advance!

Changing this setting will only change the location for images downloaded from now on. It will not change the location of any image that was already downloaded. You will have to do that yourself by dragging and dropping in the Lightroom folder panel.

No, this is not a known bug, and your edits should come over to Lightroom Classic. Can you describe in a bit more detail what you did to get your images from the cloud to Lightroom Classic?

Of course I understand that and the problem I am facing concern the images downloaded from now on as I have moved the previous ones manually to my external HD using LRclassic folder system. But maybe the problem comes from the fact that I could only pause the sync, not stop it before changing the destination address?

I started the download by activating "sync with Lightroom" in the top left corner of the screen by clicking on the arrow next to my name. When I realised the pictures were going to my computer HD in Mobile Downloads.lrdata I paused the download (cannot stop it, just pause) and changed the setting in "preferences/lightroom sync" tab and entered my external HD address in "specify location for Lightroom's synced images".

Again , thank you very much for your help.

Pausing the sync and then changing the location, will probably not change the location for images already in the queue. You will have to let them download to the original location and then manually move them.

I noticed that your screenshot shows images that are uploaded. Do you use the same catalog that you migrated to Lightroom cloud previously? That may not be a good idea, because that could indeed confuse the system concerning edits. I would create a brand new catalog in Lightroom Classic and sync that one to get the images from the cloud back into Lightroom Classic.
