In Lightroom Classic > Preferences > Presets - Trouble getting the second camera model to show

Trying to help someone who is without Internet, today, ...

For some reason, the camera they use regularly, is no longer showing up in their RAW DEFAULTS portion of that window (LrC > Preferences > Presets).  It was there... now it is not.  ??

They are up-to-date on a macOS (Macbook Pro) with an external drive - no hardware or system issues.

There are no bugs in my system (macOS - iMac),  and I could not find any for theirs, either.

The last time I added a camera to my system was over a year ago, and I cannot for-the-life-of-me, recall what I did to get that camera model added to my Defaults.  But there it is, happily!

They tried to Update Default and Relaunched LrC but got no change.  Even their camera brand (OM Digital Solutions) does not show in the pop-out list.   I have looked everywhere in the community and on Adobe for a solution but am coming-up blank.

How do they get the camera model entered to register in the Defaults?

Would any of the "Restore...." buttons be useful for this issue?

Correct answer F.Quill

The issue is now resolved!  It was a user-error.  Appears that the image-files they imported to LrC were accidentally just the jpegs - not RAW.

Thank-you, again, for the help.

Did they perhaps create a new catalog and did not yet import a raw image that was shot with this camera? If you want to setup a camera default for a certain camera, then you must at least have one raw photo in Lightroom that was shot with this camera. That makes sense, otherwise Lightroom would have to show all the cameras that are used worldwide; meaning it would have to show a huge list.

Appreciate that idea and help.  That was one of my first suspicions, too.  That might have something to do with it but to the best of my knowledge/interrogation 🤔 🤔 does not appear to be the case.  Am still waiting to hear back from them about their Lightroom Develop Presets folder.  (Their comm-service is extremely limited for the next couple days.)  I invited them to jump in here but they may have to wait until they return to a geographical area with service.

Thank-you so much for sharing your expertise!

Hi @F.Quill, thanks for reaching out!
Could you check that the presets were installed correctly using File > Import Profiles & Presets, or by manually placing them in Settings/User Presets/User Styles?
To find the exact folder where the preset should be located, go to LrC > Preferences > Presets and click the Show Lightroom Develop Presets button.
Thanks so much!

Hi @Aleke,  Thank-you for the great reply!  I have passed it on to them.  It may be a while for a response due to the remote area they are in with patchy com & Internet.  I think I do understand better now, too, as to what happened thanks to your tip.  Hope it gets them closer to a fix.
