Question

Library module does not automatically implement edits made previously and recorded in history until manual click on history.

My problem is described in an previous, elaborate post (Lightroom Classic automatically restores all changes done on "develop" module) although I am using a Mac M5 OS 15.1.

Library module does not automatically read and implement edits made and recorded in history until manual click on history thus I must navigate to Develop module and navigate to left-most panel in history, which is inevitably at the bottom, then scroll up to history

This is time consuming, frustrating and maddening.

Even if the LR tecs can’t fix this problem, which I believe is shared by many judging from the past, perhaps they could add a toggle in library that automatically updates history in the Library module.

    Hi @LittleLew,

Thanks for reporting this. I reviewed your thread and the helpful suggestions from community experts & Legends. Below are concise, non-speculative next steps and what we’ll need if you want us to escalate.

    • Update your Mac to OS 26.3 (if possible) and Lightroom Classic to 15.2, then reboot.

    • Create a new temporary catalog (File > New Catalog).

    • In that temp catalog, import a small sample (10–20) of images from a folder that exhibits the problem.

    • Reproduce the issue while doing a short screen recording (show Library > Develop, clicking thumbnails, history behavior, and any Export-as-Catalog attempt).

    • Zip everything and share:

      • the screen recording (MP4)

      • the temp catalog file (.lrcat) and its .lrdata folder (or a zipped sample of those)

      • a note with your exact LrC build, macOS build, and a short description of what you did

      • upload everything to Google Drive and share the link here (or DM for privacy)

I’ll forward the Drive link and files directly to the product team for review once you share them.

    Best Regards,

    Anshul Saini

@LittleLew you’d be better off reporting the issue in the Lightroom Classic forum
