Lightroom 5.5 crashes

I just installed the update to 5.5, and in the last hour it has crashed 4 times. I get the error below. never had a problem until I upgraded. Ironically, I updated it because I wanted the bug fixes, but all I got were bugs. Is there actually anything I can do to try to fix it? Running Win 8.1. And like I said, worked fine until I updated.

On a newish MacBook Pro, updated Lightroom 5.5 and it won't get past the splash screen before it crashes. Very disappointing behavior.

Windows 7, very basic PC. Installed Lightroom 5.5 and have had no issues at all so far. Don't know if this is a difference, but I'm not using the mobile features. It's a basic Windows 7/Lightroom installation, and using Lightroom in a very "basic" configuration.

After installing the new LR 5.5 the application is not opening. I'm on W7, reinstalled LR and rebooted the computer and still dead. This is frustrating. Photoshop CC2014 upgraded fine.

I'm on mac running mavericks and LR will only flash the LR logo and quits...

Another reason not to like subscriptions !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same here. Lightroom 5.5 doesn't load on mavericks. PS and bridge are fine.

I share the same problem as dbilger. I just installed Lightroom 5.5 and it has crashed 3 times in the past 90 minutes. I get the same error message as dbilger. I never had a problem with Lightroom 5.4 or earlier releases. They did not crash. I am on Windows 7.
