Kinda new to modern Photoshop..... I used to be very proficiant with Photoshop 7 back in the day....

I use Lightroom to sort and organize photos from my Nikon D810 - I use the USB cable to connect the CF cardto lightroom - shows up as black when migrating from Lightroom to Photoshop. I can't edit anything...

Windows 11.....

RAW and Fine JPGs offer the same challenges

What am I missing?

Thanks in advance \m/\m/

Can you clarify parts of your post?

"use the USB cable to connect the CF cardto lightroom -"

Are you using Lightroom or Lightroom-Classic?

Are you Importing the camera files to your hard-drive and the Lightroom? Catalog?

What do you see in the Lightroom? catalog?

"shows up as black when migrating from Lightroom to Photoshop."

Are you using the [Edit in Photoshop] command on a selected photo in the catalog?

Is it the Photoshop 'document' window that is appearing 'black'?

What are the Version numbers of your Apps and OS?

Details in your posts are most helpful.

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.1.1, Photoshop 27.3.1, ACR 18.1.1, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.2 .
