Lightroom Classic: Can't rename folders

I'm having trouble renaming folders in Lightoom. It seems to work sometimes and others not. I have all my photos stored on an external NAS.

I keep getting the message: "the folder could not be renamed or moved"

The strange thing is, sometimes if I wait 5 minutes and try again it works. I've noticed though that it doesn't update the name of the fodler on the NAS.

Any ideas? I've got loads to rename and it's takinng forever.

Thanks

Some NAS "go to sleep" for a while. Could that be happening here?

Sleeping is a likely culprit -- it's a parameter you can set on some NAS.  Other things to check:

1. Make sure you've configured it to use SMB rather than the long-deprecated AFP (some older NAS still default to AFP).

2. Ensure LR is granted Full Disk Access (not Files And Folders) permission:

Without Full Disk Access, LR can do all sorts of screwy things. Let us know whether that fixes the problem.

Thank you for the advice, I checked and it's usiing SMB. I've given full access. I don't think it is sleeping.. I have the folders open in a window at the same time and I'm accessing the files.

Then I try to rename the folder in lightroom and keep getting the same error.
