Lightroom Classic Lost Photos

When I open Lightrooom Classic, I no longer see my photos. The photos are on my computer, but I can't see them in Lightroom. I can't figure out what has happened. Don't know if Lightroom has lost contact with the images or what. I've been using Lightroom for years and have never experienced anything like this. I have thousands of photos stored in the Library.

To confirm, are you seeing/opening the correct Catalog or by change a new one?

As far as I can tell, it is same catalog. I've done nothing to switch catalogs.

I know these are basic steps. But have you tried going to the library module, all photographs, sorting by capture time and then scrolling through the images to try to find them that way? If they aren't there then  try importing them again. Not knowing your true situation, it's kind of hard to guess at what to do.
