Lightroom Classic - not possible to open programme

Hi!
My Lightroom Classic doesn't open anymore. I struggled the last couple of times when I wanted to use it as well ... deinstalled it, reinstalled it and that several times again (on both my work and my home PC). My colleage tried it with her PC as well, but said to me she can't work with this programme because it doesn't work ...

And today it doesn't open again ... I de + rereinstalled it again ... when deinstalling it, it first didn't let me, because there was a message, which said that I should close all open files (altough I didn't have any open ... for quite a long time). With the task manager I finally could close it and then managed to deinstall it.
But now it still doesn't open. It was completely new installed ...

I am not sure whether Adobe wants the people to use Lightroom instead of Lightroom Classic and that's the reason, why it doesn't even open ...
However can anyone help me? I really urgently need a programme where I can add watermarks to a hundreds of photos as I had a big event and it the photos should be on the website ... by yesterday 😞

Ah, interesting, that screenshot. It tells me that you are auto sync to OneDrive, and that your catalog may or may not be on OneDrive. That can be problematic.

I suspect that if you share your LrC /Help/System Information), that the Library path one will OneDrive.

Something like:

Library Path: C:\Users\username\OneDrive\Pictures\Lightroom\Lightroom.lrcat

I would recommend that you create a folder on your hard drive, any hard drive. Name this folder something like MyPhotography, MyLightroom, Lightroom, Rumplestilitskin, anything other than Pictures (or any other Windows System Library Folder, such as Pictures, Documents, Videos, etc) . And relocate your catalog to that new folder. If your photos are on OneDrive, or the Cloud, reconsider relocating them as well.

Even if all that library path indicates that sync with OneDrive is to occure, that can be a problem (Ok to Sync, but not while running LrC.

With the task manager I finally could close it and then managed to deinstall it.

So a force quit. Check for a lock file

Hey, thank you very much for your answer. I was so happy to get an advice ... as explained in the manual, I tried that and deleted the exact lock file but it didn't work neither.

But there is sth. strange. When I clicked on Lightroom Classic to open it ... two additional files popped up (marked yellow on the screen below). The two files are loading, popping up and then they vanish ... within 2 or 3 seconds ... again the same process in a loop, but the programme still doesn't open

I hope you can understand what I mean ...

Kind regards and thousand thanks for helping me out ...

Nothing strange about that. It is supposed to happen.

Please provide us with the exact word-for-word error message that you are getting.

... which said that I should close all open files ...

Please tell us the EXACT complete word-for-word error message. Is it perhaps "Lightroom catalog cannot be opened because another application already has it opened"? If so, see https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/lightroom-unable-to-open-because-another-program-is-using-it/m-p/8858189
