Adobe Cloud informed me of the latest upgrade to LR (as referenced in the link above) but it won't install on my iMac 2012 running Catalina 10.15.7 (the latest version of Catalina). The later versions of macOS won't install on this machine and so I can't upgrade. It seems then that LR version 11.5 is the end of the road for me with this computer (which is otherwise still running fine). Are there any options available to me or is now the time to cancel my subscription. I may look at replacing the machine next year but it's not really an option at the moment. Thanks for any advice.

Correct answer Sean McCormack

I don't think I implied that at all. I am asking that since I already have a working version (which is of value to me as a hobbyist) BUT that I won't be able to upgrade (unless I move to a new machine) then is there any point in having a subscription. It would seem to me that I would be paying a monthly fee to Adobe for ... well not sure and that's what I'm asking.

Well 11.5 will stop working when you stop subscribing so it's up to you.

Yes, there are plenty of options. A short, and not complete list is:

  • use other software
  • continue to use LrC 11.5
  • get a new computer

Sorry, I wasn't clear enough. I was really asking is there any point in continuing with my subscription given that I won't be able to install any further updates.

So your question implies that LrC 11.5 had value to you, but now you can't upgrade to LrC 12, so now LrC 11.5 has no value. Is that what you mean?
