LrC 15.0.1 – GPU fails to initialise (Build: Uninitialized, GPU disabled) on RTX 5060 Ti systems
Summary:
After upgrading from Lightroom Classic 14.5.1 to 15.0.1, the GPU engine no longer initialises. Masking becomes extremely slow or unusable. System Info consistently shows:
GPUDeviceEnabled: false
Direct2DEnabled: false
Rolling back to 14.5.1 restores basic masking, but GPU acceleration still does not activate in that version either.
Environment:
Windows 11 Pro
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti (Studio Driver 591.44, Standard)
AMD Radeon firmware-level GPU on Ryzen 7 9700X
Dual-monitor setup
DxDiag: all DirectX features OK
Photoshop detects and uses GPU normally
Steps to Reproduce:
Install Lightroom Classic 15.0.1
Launch Lightroom
Open System Info → GPU section
GPU engine is not initialised; masking becomes extremely slow
Expected:
GPU engine should initialise; masking should use GPU acceleration.
Actual:
GPU engine does not initialise; Lightroom reports “Build: Uninitialized” and disables GPU processing.
Notes:
Clean NVIDIA install performed with DDU
Lightroom preferences reset
Lightroom fully reinstalled
GPU works normally in Photoshop
Issue appears specific to LrC 15.x GPU detection logic
Similar reports found in Adobe forums from users with multi-adapter setups and newer GPUs
Request:
Please investigate GPU initialisation failure in LrC 15.x on systems with mixed GPU adapters (NVIDIA + AMD firmware) and dual displays.
