Hi I have used LR Classic for years, and about 2 years ago started using CC for when I am on a shoot on the road. Hve never bothered to understand how to get it all back into Classic, seemed all fine till today.

Yesterday I created a new classic catalog for a client, and shared the images with client via the collaborative share thing. To make that work I had to turn on sync in Classic. All seemed fine until this morning, where my laptop HD is full and the cultprit is "Mobile Downloads.lrdata" at about 150GB.

I read a post from 2018 saying you could move this from classic if you found a 'imported photos' folder, but when I found that folder its full of random old images not from the catalog I made yesterday.

I don't want to just delete that or move it because now I am totally confused about where my files are and why I have this huge mobile downloads file.

MobileDownloads.lrdata is where Lightroom Classic stores the incoming cloud images, usually images shot with an iPhone with Lightroom mobile on it, or images you imported in Lightroom mobile or Lightroom desktop. It shows in the folder panel as a device (like a separate hard drive), named after the mobile device. You can move images out of it into a normal folder by using drag & drop, just like moving any other image in Lightroom Classic. In Preferences - Lightroom Sync you can change this to a normal folder on any drive you like.

Thank you Johan

I changed the prefs location and the problem was solved, much appreciated!

Follow up question - first LRC moved all those files and completed it's sync, but now all of sudden it is syncing over 4000 images... any idea why?

I should add, the number keeping going up - makes no sense to me. Is there some imcompatibility between LRC and LR, like having them running and syncing on the same machine will just cause chaos?
