Moving raw files from my iPad which were synced to the Creative Cloud with the LR Mobile app to LR Classic on my desktop.

I have just returned from a short vacation and I imported some raw image files from my camera with the LR Mobile app on my iPad and completed some editing work.

Now that I am able to access my desktop I need to import those raw images into the folder structure that I use with my desktop and LR Classic. I understand that the files would have been synced to the cloud storage and also down to the LR Classic. However I wish to move those files from the where there are located and import into my existing Catalog and desktop folder structure and retain the edits.

After completion I will delete the original files from my iPad.

OK, so now I am confused.

What I have done in the past when I return home is to, import the original image files using the copy option from the import dialog, from the camera SD card into my LR Classic Catalog. Then redo the edits.

I wish to avoid having to do this.

My Lightroom Catalog is my "Holy Grail" I do not do save to .xmp nor do I use dng.

You don't have to do all that. If you set up Classic to sync with CC, it will download all the files and edits you did on your iPad from the cloud automatically as long as both are logged onto the same CC account. You can then simply drag the files to wherever you want them on your hard drive inside Classic.

In Lightroom Classic, locate the files and select them. Then drag and drop them onto the folder in the folder panel where you want them to be.

If you want to delete the original files from the iPad, then remove them from the 'All Synced Photographs' in Lightroom Classic. That will remove them from the cloud, but keep them in Lightroom Classic.

So if I understand you correctly the actual drag and drop into a folder of my choice will complete the import process with the edits done with the iPad?

No, it has nothing to do with importing. Drag and drop is the standard way of moving images from one folder to another folder in Lightroom Classic. When an image from your iPad appears in Lightroom Classic, it means that it has been synced and so it has been downloaded. The initial download folder can be set in the Lightroom preferences, but you may want these images to go to different folders. That is what you use drag and drop for.
