I you have selected "Delete from disk" check in the Trash/ Bin. If they have been deleted there you will fave to recover from a back up source.

@_wrzl_ , the Author of this bug thread which refers to "Automatically write Metadata to XMP" Johnrellis, indicated above that the issue raised has been rectified and stated " It's now safe again to enable Catalog Settings > Metadata > Automatically Write Changes to XMP. (We can conduct the religious arguments about whether to do that in another thread.)" Thanks for the info John.

@lukedyson , to each his own, I prefer the new Denoise process with the LrC edits stored in the Catalog and support data files. No additional DNG file created to store and manage. I use LrC in its default mode so I do not have the option " automatically write metadata to XMP " nor do Save Metadata to the file. Users can choose the options available that best suit their own preferences. I have already deleted thousands of DNG files created in the earlier versions of Denoise from my system. I retain my RAW originals that I revisit as needed.

Ok I have done some further checks. I indicated in my last post. "It may not be shown as an HDR image in the Develop module but the edits are applied." I synced the jpeg xl image to Lightroom on my iPad and the image indicates it is HDR. See the capture from my iPad. I do not know if this is a bug in LrC 15.0. Clearly the HDR is applied to the exported jpeg xl and is not reflected in the Deevelop Module.

The jpeg file created from the Raw image on export has all the edits applied in LrC are applied including the HDR. It may not be shown as an HDR image in the Develop module but the edits are applied. I have checked on my Win system running LrC. You can do the following test, export the Raw image with the HDR applied and export the jpg xl image to the same folder as the Raw image so that it sits next to the Raw. Then in the Library module grid mode select the jpeg xl image and the Raw and use the Compare so the two image sit side by side, they should match.

I would simply create a Collection in LrC and sync to Adobe Creative Cloud that will Sync Smart Previews to the Adobe Cloud Storage and you can share with them from there. They can view and there is also an option for them to download copies from there is the wish. Alternatively you can export higher resolution images from LrC, tiff, jpeg or jpeg xl. Aand share those online so they can copy or download.

Using the Export option in LrC to share a RAW file you would have to select "export original" so what you get is a copy of your original raw file (without any edits you may have applied in LrC). If your client or friend has access to LrC 15.0 you can explore using "Export as a Catalog and include the Original files. Send the Catalog to them.

@lukedyson , I am not a user of Bridge / Camera Raw which are Adobe applications that can do the Dnoise process as an Alternative to the LrC app to Denoise your Raw images. Then you can import into LrC for further processing. Just a thought. Adobe applicant

@matteo_3297 , You indicate that CR is at version 17.5, I am also on Win 11 and I got an update to Camera Raw on Adobe Creative Cloud application to Version 17.5.1. Try the update and see if it helps with your problem.

@JohanElzenga , I would only use Super Resolution if I was making a significant crop of the Raw Image. I would likely use Denoise with Raw Detail and export a tiff to send to the printing service. Looking forward to what will come with LrC 15 in a couple of weeks.

The Raw Detail feature has been available for several years prior to the introduction of Super resolution and Ai Denoise. It preforms as the name suggests and enhances the process of Raw Image files. It can be used by itself, if you use the Ai Denoise feature or the super resolution feature it will be automatically used. After you use one of those features when the process completes you will see it is also ticked.

So Lr based is Lightroom Desktop, data is stored in Adobe Creative Cloud, original images in the cloud and also on your Computer. LrC based is Lightroom Classic with data in the Catalog file on your computer, and original images on your Computer, if you have sync enabled "smart previews " are. synced to the Adobe Creative Cloud storage.

@ChrisPhotoClimb , looking at the addition posts today appears to me you are attempting to use LrC contrary to how it was designed to function. Maybe you could check the Lr Cloud Based Ecosystem, which has the Catalog Data stored in Adobe Creative Cloud. PS The annual upgrade of LrC to version 15 and Lr. to version 9 is due mid October 2025.

@ChrisPhotoClimb , Just some thoughts, you are using the latest version of of LrC and there are some things that can cause the sync process to complete. I you are using the Dnoise AI or similar functions on multiple files the writing to the Catalog Data support file can take a while to complete. Also if you have the option to " Automatically write Metadata to XMP " selected will delay the process., best to deselect this option until the process has been rectified.
