Question

P: Colored "pixel" artifacts/subdued blacks in shadow areas (older Macs) (also visible on CR)

I updated LrC to 12.4 yesyerday. Since then a number of pixels in multiple colors appear appear quite often on the image, mostly in the areas of blacks/darks and when using Tone Curve commands. It's similar to the red/blue pixels which denoted clipping in the areas of blacks/whites, but they appear in very many different other colors. Sometimes they disappear, or decrease, after actioning the commands again, sometimes they do not. Is anybody else facing the same problem which I encounter now for the vey first time after many years of use of LrC? Thank you in advance for your advise.

@shywolfphotography, you can try setting Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor to Off, which works for some but doesn't work for others.  If that doesn't help, the only other workaround is to roll back to LR 12.3.

It does appear on exported images. I am not able to currently work due to this - is there a fix other than buying a whole new system?!!!

Adobe lightroom is highlighting some colors even If I turned of this option to highlight the most dark and bright spaces.I wonder if something is wrong with my files or application

I have recently upgraded to LrC 13.0.1 with Camera Raw 16.0. Since then I have had all my darker images export with serious noise and banding issues. I ended up migrating my catalog to LR and exporting from there with no issues. I can't keep doing it though, our workflow is from LrC. Any ideas?? I'm attaching the files from LRC and the ones from LR for reference.

Yeah, these are previously reported problem children, thanks for confirming.

I have an image that was shot in low light with some dark shadow areas. The shadow clipping is turned off but the blue areas are still appearing. This also appears on the image when exported.

*ive covered the image for privacy
