Question

Rebuild sync data - how can I tell this is happening?

I found 3 images that appear to sync to cloud (as per the cloud icon in top right) when changes are made, but do not make it up to the cloud. I do not see the images on other devices using the Adobe cloud:
- iphone
- macbook

From reading posts, I'm now trying to rebuild my sync file as per instructions below where I see LR classic restart, sync is paused. But I don't see any task indicator or other progress/status showing my sync file is indeed rebuilding. How can I tell the rebuild is happening?

Instructions I followed
LrC Preferences>Lightroom Sync tab, then press and hold the OPT key and the "Rebuild Sync Data" buttom will appear. Click on that and the rebuild will start

I'm guessing one sneaky way to tell would be for me to examine the sync file itself and see if it got rebuilt by time/date stamp. I never did see any user feedback (UI) telling me it was rebuilding or that it was done.

Doesn't feel like my cloud sync data was rebuilt so my next plan is to delete or rename the sync folder and force it to rebuild as per what I read in another thread

  • Quit Lightroom. Go to C:UsersAppDataLocalAdobe[&Lightroom&]Caches[&Sync&] Data and delete (or rename) the Sync.lrdata folder. Restart Lightroom and it should try to reconcile your local synced data and the cloud synced data.
