Remove this keyword from selected photos - not working

I'm trying to remove keywords from multiple photos.

In library grid view, after selecting the images, I right-click on the keyword in the keyword panel, then chose the "Remove this keyword from selected photos" menu option, the keyword is only removed from the primary image selected. The checkbox next to the keyword shows a dash, indicating it's still attached to some of the images.

If I choose "add this keyword to selected photos", the keyword is added to all. But removing still only removes from the highlighted photo, rather than all selected.

I'm running CC Lightroom 2015.12

You can add keywords to multiple images in all of the modes (Grid, Loupe, Compare, Survey etc).

However, you can only remove keywords from multiple images in Grid mode. If you select the option in the other modes, it is only removed from the active photo. Given that the option is offered in the drop down, but does not work, this seems like a bug. You'd expect the add and remove options to work identically.

I agree that it is inconsistent that in Loupe view, Add This Keyword To Selected Photos adds the keyword to all the selected photos but Remove This Keyword From Selected Photos removes it from the current photo only.  You could file a bug report here:

In a normal universe, this would surely be designated a "bug", in that it's behavior that no sensible product designer would consider as intended or correct.  But the current product team has a tendency to label nearly every current behavior "as-designed" (probably in response to management incentives to keep their bug lists shorter).

In general, LR's handling of commands when multiple photos are selected in Loupe view is a confusing mess:

Thanks John - I have raised it as a bug:

We'll see if Adobe thinks it's a bug or a feature!

I agree that the handling of commands is confusing in the Loupe view, though hadn't known the problem was as widespread as your post! I'm mainly impacted by the Set Rating, where if I use the keyboard shortcuts (1/2/3 etc) I need to be in Grid view, but if I right-click, I can do it from Loupe view!
