Question

Show metadata on exported photos - e.g GPS location, date and time stamp

Hi, I'm looking for a way to show a date and time stamp and GPS location on an exported jpg. So that when someone views the photo, they can immediately see this without having to look for photo details or information.

I've found I can do this, of sorts, with the Print function, by printing as a jpg file, but the origianl file name is lost.

When I hit "Print to file" it asks where to save - which is fine
Then once saved, it's in the folder I asked to be sent to, but the file name has changed to "foldername-1" and all photos numbered sequentially.
How do I get it to save with the original file name?

Thanks folks.

LR Mogrify could do this, but it's not working currently.

Depending on size required you can do this using the Slideshow module. Add the Metadata bits you need from the Toolbar ( the ABC bit). There's a basic EXIF Metadata slideshow you can modify. Export the Slideshow as JPEG from the Slideshow menu.

Hi Sean, many thanks.

I've been playing around with Mogrify and found as you say - it's not working.  It looks like it's exactly what I need though.  I've emailed the author, just waiting on his response.

I was looking at slideshow, but it's not what I really need - I need to be able to overlay the time/date, and GSP data so that each jpg shows it.  Slideshow doesn't quite fit the bill I'm afraid, I can't see that I can add the GPS data.

As Sean alluded, LR/Mogrify doesn't work on LR 13.0.1 due to a LR bug:

I'm guessing it will likely be fixed in LR 13.1 (due mid-December).
