Question

Switching between Catalogs crashes

Hi All, Running on a new Mac Studio, M1 Max chip, with OS 12.6.2 and LR Classic 12.1.  Sometimes when I go to open a previously opened catalog, LR just quits.  When I relaunch LR, it opens the catalog I was trying to open.  I've yet to figure out a pattern.  We're only working with 2-4 cataloges at a time and nothing is processing in the background.  It's crashed when we've chosen to backup the catalog during the switch and also when we chose not to back up the current catalog.  It's happened when weather we are in the Library or Develop module.  Then it works fine for a while until it doesn't anymore.  I have performance video card set to "Auto".  The only thing we are noticing is that if you have had a catalog open for just a few minutes and switch it's fine, but if we've been working in a catalog for a while, it seems to crash more.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
kevin

Try resetting your Lightroom preferences:

Also see: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/important-steps-for-manually-resetting-preferences-omitted-from-help-article/td-p/12972518

Quit Lightroom Classic.
macOS: Press and hold the Shift + Option keys.
Windows: Press and hold the Shift + Alt keys.
While holding down the keys, launch Lightroom Classic.
When asked, select "Yes".

Like Sean, I'm also on an M1, no issues.

I know it's no help, but I'm on the same machine and not experiencing this. Have you tried the usual, restarting the computer and resetting preferences?
