Unable to connect to Adobe's servers

I really enjoy working with the Lightroom Classic map module. With the update to version 14.5.1, I get the message

‘Unable to connect to Adobe servers. The map module is not working.’

And when I create a collection and try to connect it to the Lightroom ecosystem, I also get the message ‘Attempting to connect to servers’ and the connection is not established. In short, the Lightroom ecosystem is disrupted.

I have spent several hours on the phone with customer service and followed all of their suggestions. However, Adobe customer service was also unable to resolve the issue.

 

I discussed the problem also with my computer expert.  It’s a bug in the software and not a bug on my computer.

There is an outstanding bug where the Map module shows that error message (and other messages) for some users mostly in Europe:

But since you're also getting an error trying to sync collections with LR Cloud, that indicates the problem is likely something else.

 

Sometimes firewalls and anti-virus/security services incorrectly block some network requests from LR. Try these troubleshooting steps:

- Temporarily disable all the firewall/anti-virus/security services on your computer. If that solves the problem, then add a specific exclusion for LR to the services' rules.

- Connect to another network, preferably one serviced by a different ISP. E.g. a Wifi connection of a neighbor, a coffee shop, work, or your phone's hotspot. Sometimes the routers in these networks block LR's requests, especially in authoritarian countries like China.

Hi @Joachim Reichert, sorry to hear you're running into issues with Lightroom Classic.
To start, could you check that you're on a stable internet connection? If everything looks good there but the issue continues, I’d recommend trying a reset of your Lightroom Classic preferencesm this can help if something behind the scenes got a bit off.
