In the LR Classic import dialog"

1)     What is the algorithm to determine if an image is a duplicate?

2)     Is it the same algorithm used to show/hide/gray-out images in the grid section on the import dialog as is used with the "Don't support suspected duplicates" checkbox in the right panel group?

Thanks -- Dan

Thanks dj_Paige.

BTW - the link your provided may be an old link as it just takes me to the forums welcome page.  I did not find the Photos-videos options page that the URL itself was targeting.  So, if you know where it is and could pass that along I'd appreciate it.

Try the link from dj_paige again- it works for me.

How to specify import options in Lightroom Classic CC

And it has the paragraph-

Ignore duplicates when importing

Lightroom Classic CC determines a photo is a duplicate of another file in the catalog if it has the same, original filename; the same Exif capture date and time; and the same file size. You can instruct Lightroom Classic CC to disregard duplicate files when importing.
