Fixed: Missing Images and Presets after Lightroom Mobile 5.4 update

So, Lightroom automatically updated and I lost everything I had until this morning when I last used it.

I hope theres a way to recover my work back.

Hi All,

We are aware that some customers who updated to Lightroom 5.4.0 on iPhone and iPad may be missing photos and presets that were not synced to the Lightroom cloud.

A new version of Lightroom mobile (5.4.1) for iOS and iPadOS has now been released that prevents this issue from affecting additional customers.

Installing version 5.4.1 will not restore missing photos or presets for customers affected by the problem introduced in 5.4.0.

We know that some customers have photos and presets that are not recoverable. We sincerely apologize to any customers who have been affected by this issue.

If you are affected by this issue, please refer to the information in our forum.

So there is no way to recover the photos? And no further plans to investigate options for those that lost photos?

I use the free version of the Lightroom mobile and for whatever reason all of my presets and photos disappeared. I'm concerned bc I paid for the presets. How do I get it all back? I'm still logged in and was never logged out so I know it's not a matter of the wrong profile.

First, do not uninstall the application.

Hi all,

We are aware of an issue related to the latest release of Lightroom mobile (5.4.0) on iOS and iPadOS. The team is investigating and we’ll share an update with affected customers as soon as possible. If you have not installed the 5.4 update, please do not update. If you have installed the 5.4 update, do not launch the app. Also do not delete and try to re-install the app. We are rolling out a 5.4.1 update to resolve this issue.

Seems like this is the only way to get a hold of a reliable customer service agent...

This morning, as you are probably already aware due to the amount of people this happened to.. The Lightroom Mobile app on the iPhone iOS deleted all the data that I had saved on the app. Many presets, hundreds of photos, albums, etc. all disappeared without warning or any explanation. Through my own investigating, I can see that it was most likely due to the new software update.

Moving forward, I’d like an explanation as to why this happened and a reasonable solution to restore all my lost data. Please help me out with doing this. I rely on Lightroom for work purposes and for my own personal enjoyment. I’m a big fan of all your products, however a mistake like this seems like it could’ve been easily preventable, seeing that you’re a software company.. I trust that you can help me solve this problem. Thank you

Same happened to me too. All of my photos, presets, watermark everything was wiped out. Please help us out and fix this problem. I have been using LR mobile since 2017 and never have experienced anything like this. I have a lot of my work in the app, please help us........

As hundreds of you also noticed, presets and photos in the lightroom app are GONE. The help desk was useless. They said I need a subscription yet I have had this app for free for a few years now. They want to know HOW I got it for free. I'm so confused. I just want my presets and photos back.

This happened to me as well. The help desk was USELESS as they kept saying the subscription isn't free and I needed to speak with someone from the App Store. So confused.

This morning I updated my iPhone Lightroom app only to reopen it to find ALL my presets (both purchased and self made) and all my photos and albums gone....!

They are also missing from the CC version of Lightroom on my iMac which has NOT been updated...!!

Is this a 'cloud' issue ? If so you need to sort this out ASAP for the thousands of users both professional and amateur, who will have lost hours of work and potential clients in what is already a challenging time.

This is not good enough, and hugely disappointing from a company that once held the gold standard for professional editing tools.
