Lightroom for Windows legacy settings not letting me update

Currently using LR V5.4 for windows. I noticed recently that any time I select one of my older photos (anything before approx. 8/20/20) to view/edit them from the grid overlay, the edits I have in place dissappear form the image and I'm prompted to update my legacy settings, which then dissappears before I can take any action. The image doesnt have any of my edit history and is back to the original image I uploaded to LR. I dont want to take any large actions until I understand what's going on. I have hundreds of photos that I havent selected that still appear edited on my grid overlay and dont want to lose any of them by selecting/viewing them too. I use LR for IOS on my phone to import photos as well and seem to still have the intact images there. I'm not sure if I should wait for an update, or if anyone else is experiencing this same problem. Would appreciate the imput/direction!

Could you please share a screenshot or screen recording of this behavior? What kind of files do you work with? Are they JPEG or RAW? Has this started to happen since you updated Lightroom to v5.4?

Please log on to Lightroom Web (https://lightroom.adobe.com) to check current Sync issues on the left part of the screen.

If there are any sync issues, click on them to know more, find the original for those images' original or source location, let them finish syncing, and back them up safely before you empty the Sync issues from Lightroom Web.

 

As long as there are any sync issues on Lightroom Web, you can have difficulties syncing edits & images in the Lightroom Ecosystem.
