Lightroom Mobile Photos Gone

Today I went to check my Lightroom Mobile photos synced to the Adobe cloud but couldn't get the Mac app to connect (it continuously said "waiting for connection"). I went to my iPad to check the photos from there and it told me I had no collections. I went over to my iPhone's LR Mobile app and when it first opened, all of my collections were there. Then it went to a loading screen and when it came back it said I had no collections. I had hundreds of pictures synced to the cloud so this is both incredibly frustrating and terrifying. Is this just a connection issue or did all of my photos some how get deleted?

Correct answer greule

Did you connect a new Lr Desktop catalog to your account? Since Lr Mobile currently only supports one catalog at a time the previous connected catalog will be purged. In that case you should have recieved a caution allert within Lr Desktop. - Guido

Upon reinstallation I have found my all my photos gone! Please assist me, my business heavily relies on those pictures I lost. I am devastated. Please help! I will do anything to get them back. Just please tell me you can access them.

Awaiting your feedback.

Hi Anila,

It seems like you did not had any active subscription (please confirm if you have any), and upon uninstallation, any android application is designed to delete its local data. So I am sorry to inform that it's not possible to retrieve the local data after uninstallation of Lightroom CC Android, we can only try to retrieve the data which has been uploaded to our cloud servers.

Regards,

Arnab

Greetings! I accidentally deleted the Lightroom mobile app for iOS but when I went to reinstall the app, all my photos disappeared. How can I retrieve my photos?

I can see files associated with your account associated with the Adobe ID you are using in the forum.  But, it doesn't look like you have a current subscription or trial.  Do you expect that you should have a subscription?

I'm assuming you need a subscription to retain the photos? I did the trial about 4 months ago? Don't remember exactly when but I'm currently not subscribed.

In short, I can't recover my photos?

Hello Peter!

I use the app to take pictures and recently more than 2000 pictures disappeared from my app. I don’t have a backup of them. Is it  possible to recover them? It happened after I downloaded and started using the Adobe Photoshop app.

Thanks a lot!

Claudia,

I see one catalog created just this week.  It has less than 200 photos and I see 15 were deleted from the cloud.

Can you say more what happened prior to deletion?  Were the files previously uploaded to the cloud?

Is it possible you logged in with another account previously?

If your files did not make it to the cloud, you can see if you have them on your phone.

Try the following:

Let us know.

I just had this happen to me too. I hit sync in order to upload photos from my phone onto the cloud and instead of syncing them it wiped them completely and downloaded the catalogues from the Desktop version of Lightroom. I looked in the iTunes file sharing and while my catalogue is there, my images are not.

What is this?? Is there some way to get these images back??

if you have not uninstalled the app yet, you can get it back. please send the same through Diagnostic logs by long pressing on Lr icon in settings and send Feedback.

Hi,

I was using Lightroom Mobile CC for the past 2 days on the 17th and 18th of MAY 2018, taking tons of photos and had to re log into my iphone as i had to switch out the sim card for overseas use. This ended up logging me out of my lightroom CC. However when i logged back in all the photos for those few days had totally disappeared. I have at least a hundred precious photos taken over those 2 days and would desperately like to attempt to get them back.

I have already attempted the file sharing method. And i only have one adobe id which i am using.

PLEASE HELP ME GET MY PHOTOS BACK

I WILL GET YOU WHATEVER INFORMATION YOU NEED.

Thanks

Adil

Hi Adil,

Sorry about your photos missing, I've passed this on to our team to investigate what is going on there.

A couple questions

  • Are you sure you logged back in with the same/correct account?
  • If you log into that account to lightroom.adobe.com are your images shown there?

Let us know about the above when you can.

Regards,

Pete

Hi Peter,

I’ve recovered some of the shots but I couldn’t see the others   ‍♂️  ‍♂️ So that means they are gone forever?!

Hello, I have been playing with Lightroom CC on my iPhone and iPad. Then suddenly all my iPhone photos were replaced by iPad photos and deleted. Is there please a way how to recover them (there were just a few of them but I would be glad to have one of those back). Thank you.

EDIT: Solved. If anyone has the same problem in the future - I found the photos in the Files section of iTunes after connecting the phone to the PC.

Hello, the photos are not available at lightroom.adobe.com. As far as what happened, it's hard to say because it happened over time. But basically, something like this:

  1. Took some photos and edited them using the lightroom app on my phone. Never looked for them on my computer, so I'm actually not sure they synced. But I assumed they would have. I also made a collection that I synced from my computer to my phone. I noticed that sometimes it was hard to find both the photos I took on my phone and the ones synced from my computer, but they were usually all there.
  2. A good while later (like a month later), I moved my lightroom catalog from one computer to the other, and then nuked the original computer (and catalog.)
  3. Then one day, I opened the app, and the photos were there for a second, then the app synced, and only the ones from my computer were there. The ones I took on my phone disappeared.

Does that help? Any chance of getting my photos back? This is pretty frustrating, because I feel like any other sync app (like dropbox) would have handled this fine, but lightroom responded by deleting my photos forever (probably.) And those other apps are free.

David,

I think what may have happened here is that the photos from your phone synced to the cloud but the sync did not complete on your desktop catalog.  When you resynced the moved catalog from your new computer, it removed any photos that weren't part of your catalog.  That is obviously a limitation that we need to address.

I deeply apologize that you were hit with this issue.  Let me know if there's anything we can do for you here.
