I want to start with Flash Media Development Server 5.0 then later purchase a license to Flash Media Interactive Server 5. Can the 'upgrade' occur by simply applying a license key to the development server install or must I "start over" with the full Interactive version?Thanks,Ken

This question also has to do with AMS on EC2 (ami-766cce1f)I located some (apparently) helpful docs at http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/amazonec2/flashmediaserver_4.5_amazonec2.pdf. This document refers to FMS 4.5, not AMS 5, but I haven't been able to find any docs referring specifally to AMS 5.Where the document refers to the fmsmgr command, I'm using amsmgr.   We are going to cover a live event. We have arranged a Axis camera [Q6035-e-PTZ], which will provide us HD H.264 video feed, and audio-module Axis p8221 with audio feed.Is it possible with AMS to synchronize them and mix to one mixed audio/video stream? Could not find a thread about this subject with the forum search.Thanks in advance.

ok so is where i am now..i have a orgin server and 2 edge servers and a load balancer first off im confused in each edge server i set them to be remote, rtmp and changed the routeentry to  <RouteEntry>*:*;96.44.***.***:1935</RouteEntry> on both servers orgin server is just local what my question is im streaming to orgin and its getting sent to 1 edge and other edge is doing nothing no traffic the stream i set it this way url: 'rtmp://173.254.***.***/live/live_test', which is the 1 edge thats working if i setup another channel pointing to the other edge server ip adresss it doesnt work.. what am i doing wrong isnt all this supposed to be load balanced or am i missing steps...or did i do it wrong on the flash player config.. Hello,I have an application I created, it`s a video recording applications and one audio recording application. like this:rtmp://localhost/recorderWhat main.asc file I need to put in this folder? do I need to do modifications to the file to work with my application?On the samples folder I know there are one main.asc for eache application. is it OK to use one of that?Thanks

I have a few edge servers connecting to an origin server and over time the FMS's tmp directory in the edge server is filled with .proxy files likeMTA0MDAxMDE2Ng=.proxyMTA0MDAxMjg1MQ=.proxyMTA0MDU2MzAyOA=.proxyMTA0MDYzNDU2MA=.proxyMTA0MTE4MjgyNw=.proxyMTA0MTM3OTcwNg=.proxyMTA0MTM4NjIzNQ=.proxyMTA0MTMzNzE2Nw=.proxyMTA0MTYxNjUyNQ=.proxyOver time this becomes millions of files, which then considerably slows down the system and the performance of FMS. I have to restart FMS and delete all the files in the tmp directory regularly and this makes my cluster very difficult to manage.Can anyone help me on how to remove all these files automatically? Or if there is any config that I am missing which might cause this issue?

Hi,Is "livepkgr" application access log not recorded the way it records "live" application?In my FMS, when I broadcast in "rtmp://<myip>/live", whenever someone connects to the stream, the logs appear in the live logs panel of admin console. But when I am streaming at "rtmp://<myip>/livepkgr" nothing is logged when someone access the stream from the website. It shows when fmle connects, and when someone connects from a site including their urls and IPIs it possible to make livepkgr logs the same way live does?Thanks

Hi, I just want to state some issues and possible improvements in FMS that are pretty much needed and would be great for Adobe, for the partners for the FMS customers and for the viewers of the streaming content:- FMS 4.5.1 Interactive  - which is used in most cases i guess - can stream rtmp, hls, hds to the following clients: iOS (app, native player/browser), flash client, air apps, to the following devices: all that support flash, air apps or iOS devices- FMS 4.5.1 Interactive issues:           - no protection of hls streaming (except the apache tricks that are kind-of-not-cool and may very well be insufficient) - http://forums.adobe.com/message/4231702 ?          - no support for  Androids that cannot use flash or air due to weak hardware - is the policy not to include those?          - failover strategies for linux and windows deployments

Hi Guysim using flash media server in windows and it working welli decided to make hardware encoder box , and try media streaming in linuxthe only big issue is live streaming ,,, do you have any software like live encoder in linux or any 3rd party software solution which work with adobe FMS ?actualy i know which we can make it seperate as media server and encoder terminal, but i want both as a box in linux environmet,, and need some idea about itthanks

FP 11+ Audio Encoding Issue With H.264 VideoI'm not sure if this issue is with the Flash Player when encoding the stream or with the Flash Media Server that is saving the stream so I'll be posting in both forums.The problem is when publishing an audio and video stream from Flash Player 11 (Windows, FF) to the Flash Server 4.5 using the H.264 video codec. The audio portion of the recorded stream doesn't appear to be playable by anything and FFMPEG cannot process the audio stream. Here are the differences in the stream:When using Sorenson as the video codec and recording the stream (flv) from the Flash server, the information about the audio stream from FFMPEG is this:Stream #0.0: Audio: nellymoser, 22050 Hz, mono, s16This clip can be played and processed by various players and FFMPEG with no problem.When using H.264 as the video codec and recording the stream (f4v) from the Flash server, the information about the audio stream from FFMPEG is this:Stream #0.1(eng): Audio: nmos / 0x736F6D6

Hi,I have a problem. I have installed the flash Media Server 4.5 on Linux System.Everything works finde.I can access everything over PC / Mac Browser and also can see hls-vod on iPad. But the HLS-Live isn't working.When I access http://fmsip/hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/livestream.m3u8 on Mac with Browser it downloads the m3u8 File but when trying to access the same URL with iPad or iPhone I get Not Found Error.It sais "The requested URL /hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/livestream.m3u8 was not found on this server.I use the Apache 2.2 which came with the fms.What can I do?My Problem is really urgent.

Hi,I have fms 4.5 on linux.When I access http://fmsip/ it shows the startup page and i can play the sample files.When I access the page in ipad and iPhone, hls-vod files are also working OK. If I visit http://fmsip/hls-vod/sample1_1500kbps.f4v.m3u8 it is playing on ipad and iphone as well.When i stream live to rtmp://fmsip/livepkgr with stream name livestream?adbe-live-event=liveevent I can view the video on my flash playerMy problemis the live hls. Hi,Following the release of Flash Player 11,4,402,265 last week I have started to see issues with playback of encrypted content when playing in IE9. Playback seems to stop of a moment after each fragment and then continue. The issue does not seem to happen on Chrome or IE10, which use 11.3. The issue seems to be specific to flash player 11.4 on IE with Hardware Acceleration enabled. If I disable HW acceleration the issue is not apparent.Has anybody experienced this issue, and is there any workarounds you would suggest.i have used FMS 4.5 adn AMS 5, and teh issue still occurs.M

Hello there,I have installed FMS 4.5 (with a valid license key) on a VM and unfortunately the VM image is corrupted.I've installed FMS on another VM, when i try to apply the same key, it says the key is invalid.Is there any way i can retrieve the old valid key?Thanks in advance.

We have a bunch of mp3 files on our server and we'd like to serve only particular sections of particular files to users.  For example, hello.mp3 might be four minutes long, but when user 1 tries to play it, he should only be able to play the section from 0:30 to 1:00, whereas user 2 should be able to play the whole thing.I'm coming from a background using Wowza Media Server, where this is fairly easy to achieve: http://fmsguru.com/showtutorial.cfm?tutorialID=78.Wowza doesn't require any change to the player (it doesn't call any special methods), so I'm looking for the same here.I've been fiddling around with the main.asc file and the "Server-Side ActionScript" API to try and achieve something similar.  In particular I've found the Stream.play method, which seems relevant.  But I can't figure out how to attach a handler to a "play" event; all the examples I've seen only attach to Application.onConnect, which doesn't seem to include a connection to a particular file, which
