Subj.I want to know how many viewers watch stream at the moment. How to find this out?

We are using f4vpp tool to post-process F4V files recorded with FMLE and also on F4F files recorded server-side. And we noticed that in both cases files grow double in size after the processing than the original. Is this normal? And why?

Hi, I've been using the Adobe Flash Media Administration Console for over a year, never had problems with it, but for some unknown error all I see in "View Application" is undefined, see the screenshot.And the number of clients is always on 200, even when I have 100 or 50.What is this error?Thanks

Hi,I'm writing a SSAS application, publish live streaming to clients by RTMP protocols (eg. rtmp://localhost/toPublish/myvodfile,  myvodfile is Stream name).  And  I'm using some flash player as Jwplayer or OSFM connect my rtmp link, it good.How do iOS device can view this live streaming ?

FMS server buffer delay 5-6 sec live stream ?

I've had quite some difficulty getting a record from web cam application working on FMS 4.5 - I've learned the following:(all of this on a rackspace cloud server)the webcam application works when I install FMS in developer mode and leave my serial # outIn developer or licensed, the application does not work if I choose to not install ApacheI tried coping main.asc to main.far in VOD and Live when in licensed mode and it doesn't work.When in developer mode and i install apache, everything works fine with the web cam application(all of this being done as rtmp:// not http://)so my questions are:Can I user my own apache instance? I need php, mysql, etc... on this serverShould I not be running FMS on the same server as my web server? Should they be separate? Is this why FMS defaults to port 80 for apache? That seamed a bit odd to me.Any help is appreciated.-Mario

Hi,I'm trying to use the FMS service on Amazon EC2, but it seems to be nearly impossible to request a stream for an iOS device.Consider the following two files:http://foo.cloudfront.net/hds-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/bar.f4mhttp://foo.cloudfront.net/hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/bar.m3u8I can always download the f4m, but I would say about 90% of the time when I try to get the m3u8 I just get "ERROR 404: Not Found." on the client side, and at the same time on the Apache log I get the following message:[Thu Jun 07 03:57:24 2012] [warn]  bootstrap path is in event file is empty for event:livepkgr/events/_definst_/liveevent stream name:bar[Thu Jun 07 03:57:24 2012] [error] [client x.y.z.w] File does not exist: /mnt/webroot/hls-live[End Quote]Is this normal? How can I get this to work reliably or at all?Adobe engineers, any help here please?(If you need more information just ask.)Thank you.

We currently are looking for a Download to Own or Electronic Sell through option to utilize our video titles  which are transcoded into multiple Flash and HLS bitrates. Is it possible to use the Flash Media Server 4.5 offering for a DTO option? Or is the Media Server simply a way to offer Video On Demand streaming options for end users?Thank you.

We are using Adobe Live Encoder 3.2 and FMS 4.5.2 livepkgr application to encode.At the end of a 3 hr event, we wish to end up with a single f4v file.We modified: applications\livepkgr\events\_definst_\liveevent\Event.xml<Event>  <EventID>liveevent</EventID>  <Recording>    <FragmentDuration>3000</FragmentDuration> <SegmentDuration>10799000</SegmentDuration> <DiskManagementDuration>3</DiskManagementDuration>  </Recording>  <HLS>         <MediaFileDuration>3000</MediaFileDuration>         <SlidingWindowLength>0</SlidingWindowLength>     </HLS> </Event>##To get 1 segment file, we assumed that this can be achieved by setting SegmentDuration to almost 3 hrs (10799000 is almost 3 hrs in ms).However, in our 1 hr test, livepkgr produced 2 segments.livestream1Seg191.f4f

Hi,I am in a typical scenario.  I have hosted FMS 4.5 on Machine M1, and loading the media assets from Machine M2. The application folder containing the launch file is also on M2. I made appropriate changes in fms.ini, Application.xml and other needed places to load the media. Now, media playback does work using this scenario.  But only an mp4 file of duration ~30 sec loads fine.  Any file greater than 30sec takes ages to load.  Also, I am the only user accessing this application.  There are not even 2 concurrent users.  Both the machines are still on Intranet.  We haven't yet exposed the setup for public access. I don't understand, what is making the media loading so slow.How can I fine tune FMS Apache, or any other settings to make the file loading faster.Thanks,Komal

I know this is a beginner question.  Basically if you make a Flash program that streams video from a publisher to a receiver, how can you be absolutely sure whether it's using RTMP or RTMFP to get there?  Thanks!

Hi,Im using FMLE to send a live stream to my FMS. I check marked DVR Auto Record on it. But I am uncertain if its recording, for how long its recording, and whether I can control this functionality though my FLASH application. Do I edit an xml file in FMS directory to manage where the file is recorded to and for how long its recorded? Can actionscript from a FLASH app in the webroot dir access this file and play it back then return to the live stream? Has anyone found a tutorial on these matters.I appreciate the help, thank you.

We are encoding live video feed using Flash Live Media Encoder and publishing it using Flash Media Server. Is there any documentation on how I can put this publishing point on a website running on IIS7?

We started working with Live Streaming and have had pretty good success (FMS 4.5).  When we enabled HDS protection (for HDS only). However when trying to access HLS Live feed we get an error: "mod_hlshttp [500]: Packaging error 4 (Invalid message type) when processing /hls-live/streams"When turning off HDS protection, HLS again works fine.We've enabled PHDS in both Application.xml and Event.xml with the same results.  For now we've had to disable PHDS.Has anyone else had this issue?

Can someone tell me what the return policy is on FMS 4.5?I appologize, but I feel the documentation is sub-par, telephone support was of no use, and it would appear there aren't many people experienced in setting it up. I've even gone so far as to solicit help from superuser.com and serverfault.com to no avail I'd like to return the product and persue Red5 or Wowza

My main.asc file does some logging within it using the file class.  That log file has gotten very big and I'm trying to implement a solution to back up the file when it gets too big.  Does anyone know how to check the size of a text file from within the main.asc file?

Good day!My company is planning to purchase FMS, but before we do it - we need to clear one thing.We installed FMS developer's edition in order to check how it works. It's installed on a server with both local and internet IP. We also opened tcp traffic on 1935th port for this server.so far live stream from that server works fine in the local area network, however when we are trying to connect as an internet user - it seems like there is no connection at all (means flash player doesnt even find a server).Any ideas where we should dig? and if it's actually possible without actionscripting and through standard FMS applications?thanks in advance.

Hello AdobeI Yesterday, I downloaded my Windows Update ( Vista Home Editon 32) .There was several of Windows NetFrames updates ! After my update, my Laptop ( MSI )crashed...but I manáged to get it up running again ... my Flashplayer, did not work anymore. I went to reinstall it,( more than 30 times) beccause it came with error-messages EVERY SINGLE TIME  ( Metafile or timeout ) . Then I went to see if i could download DIRECT as Youi sugest in your Troubleshoot. This didn work EITHER, why...windows wouldnt recognize it or store it correctly...and it was only the half of the program ( config editor ) that was there !!! Can You PLEASE tell me, what and HOW I can and will be able to watch movies again..??? THANK YOU !!!!Greets from Berlin, Europe !

since updating to 11.3 i keep getting update flashplayer message ojn facebook or blank screens how do i go back to the old flashplayer as the new one does not work in plain english please

I have tried to load flash 11.3.300.257 3 times because I wanted to view some trailers on vudu and kept getting that prompt. So 3 times I get msg you are now running flashplayer l go ahead and restart my laptop go to programs no flashplayer......also get same message at vudu keeps prompting me to download this version of flash player HELP this is just a pain now I dont even care about vudu just whats the deal?????

I have seen that adobe aggresively marketing their HTTP Live Dyanmic MBR Streaming with very nice tutorials like one given on this page.   I'm looking for a similar tutorial for Live RTMP Dyanmic Streaming from Adobe? Can anyone guide me of such a well descriptive tutorial in Adobe Documentation ? Please Help.
