Hi,I have found plenty documentation on how to set this up. But no user cases on how good it is with live video, the bandwidth used etc.Has anyone here done this before with great success? Thanks.
This may sound like a newbie question so i apologize if it sounds a bit dumb... My problem is that I am unable to login into my Flash Administration Console. I have typed in the correct username and password however, it keeps coming back has failed. To the best of my knowledge port 1111 is working although, i don't how if there is a method of checking port 1111 to see if it is open or blocked. When i login i give my username and password...There is the default server 1. In regards to server address...Is the server address just your computer ip address or something else? A little a confused here. Any help would be most welcome.
Everything has been working just fine with our instance of FMIS 3.5.I had to reinstall it about a month ago because we upgraded to Windows 2008 Server (Standard 32bit) This morning, I can't play any videos that have been running for over two weeks. When I went to check if ther server instance was running, I started seeing the erros."The application has failed to start because SHSMP.DLL was nout found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.""The application has failed to start because LIBEXPAT.DLL was nout found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."Please help with whatever you can, this is our only video server and needless to say, we are literally completely offline.Thank you,Brian
restrict live application, how to? not to restrict users but the publishers
Hi,I have a question on the target storage for the movies served by the Flash Media server. In your FAQ you mention that data can be stored on a local server or remote location. I assume you are referring to CIFS and NFS mountpoints? Do you support any REST based storage solution as a backend for the Adobe Streaming server? For example could I store my data on an Amazon S3, OpenStack,... compliant storage solution.Referring to the following FAQ:How does Flash Media Server integrate into my network? Flash Media Server runs on either Windows or Linux 64-bit operating systems. The XML-based configuration and C++ plug-ins allow a great deal of customization. Media files can be stored on the local server or in remote locations. Plug-ins can be configured to provide access control, directory/file mapping, authentication, or additional security features. Thanks,Stefaan
Hi,I am testing HLS on-demand service on FMS4.5 using external Apache configuration instead of using built-in Apache server that comes with FMS. Do you know why I got this message on Safari when I visit my local http server? http://localhost/hls-vod/sample2_1000kbps.f4v.m3u8I checked mime.types file and it says:application/vnd.apple.installer+xmlmpkgapplication/vnd.apple.mpegurlm3u8Please advise. Thanks,Myeong
Hello guys!I am a little confused on how much memory FMS uses.I have Video Recorder application, this is my main application, the max number of clients I have on this application is NOT greater than 200 clients. When I have 150, the console shows I`m using 95% of memory. When I have 30 ~ 70 it still shows as I`m using those 95% of memory. Here`s a print screen of what I`m talking about. Also, no matter what, my CPU usage is always below 5%, is that "normal"?
We have been recording the f4v files for months using flash media live encoder and its worked well, however all of a sudden for me and another user i know the visual has started automatically splitting into 3 and when played it stops after a few minutes.Have you any idea why this might be and what we can do to rectify it and stop it happening? Hope you can help, its driving us mad!
AS3 Code:ns.publish( "mp4:" + videoname + ".mp4", "record" );It saves the file to the Flash Media Streaming Server successfully, however, when I try to stream the video it does not play, when I download to my pc and try to play using vlc player, it doesn't play.I'm trying to keep using .mp4 and not the default .flv.Can anyone help? I'm thinking I just have a typo. Thanks!

I'm using HTTP Streaming with FMS 4.5. There is a 10-second delay for the video to reach on the receiver end. My application is of an interactive nature (think: presentation) and this delay is too long. The presentation slides change and the video reaches the audience late.Is there a way I can reduce the delay to under 5 seconds?

Hi!Ive created a simple interval:[some code]application.games["game_" + id].gameInterval = setInterval(gameCallback, id);gameCallback = function(id) { var so = SharedObject.get("game_" + id); var atime = so.getProperty("time"); atime += 1;}So everybody who is connected to game sharedOBject get notified about time variable change.Everything works fine, but the problem is that number of shared object conenctions is rising fast, and after some time FMS just freezes. Why thereare so many connectons? Why they are not garbage collected? How to create interval correctly without creating false connections? (im waching the connections number in console shared object tab)T76

I have a peculiar problem on a new FMS4 server setup, and its difficult to explain, so I apologize in advance. I've got my videos streaming out of the vod folder, and it all seems to work well with flv and mp4 versions. The captions, however, are not playing all the time. As this is a cross-domain setup, and the captions are the only resource loaded directly by the flash player (so I am told by the developer), I've tracked it down to the crossdomain.xml file not downloading to the client when they first hit the page. After a few refreshes, the crossdomain file is received, and the captions play fine.I built FMS4.0.3 on Windows 2008 64bit, and am using the built-in Apache. I do not have this issue with my old FMS2 setup which used IIS. The Strobe player calls for the flv via rtmp, and the caption xml file via http. Every time I hit the page with a clear cache, my Google Chrome network log lists crossdomain.xml as "Pending" (status 0), and the caption bar is missing from playback. If I h
Currently I am working in a project with streaming video on demand and using FMS 4.5.Let’s say the FMS is installed on one machine say ‘121.123.35.34’ and there is another server ‘100.54.88.222’ where all the media files belong. Now we need to point to this third server to play videos from FMS.I have done the below changes:In the fms.ini file: set the VOD_DIR2 = \\100.54.88.222\myvideosIn the application.xml: Added the stream: <Streams>/hr;${VOD_DIR2}</Streams>From my application accessing the path of flv as:source= “rtmp:// 121.123.35.34:1935/vod/hr/test” . Not able to access the video.Note: If I will point to say ‘C:hrvideos’ in VOD_DIR2, then I am able to access the videos using the same URL.I also tried mapping the shared path to the FMS machine and then given the mapped drive path in the VOD_DIR2, but this also doesn’t work. Please let me know:If we need to configure any other parameter to stream videos from another server.VOD_COMMON_DIR: I modified this similar TO VOD_
I just today started using Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder and Server, but am having a few issues. I was able to stream a 320x240 video live without issue. But, once I increased the resolution and bit rate, the video started looking, quite litterally, terrible. So terrible, that it looks basically like a mush of colored blocks. I've attached a screenshot, though at the moment I took it, most of the live feed was just appearing black.I'm new to Adobe's Flash Media solutions, so I'm not sure what's causing the problem. Any suggestions?
Hi,I've a great amount of videos that need to be available in a website. The videos are recorded using Hikvision cameras and therefore they have a propietary codec. I'm having a lot problems with these codecs (running on some pcs, not working on others) so I decided to serve the videos through streaming using Flash Media Server.I've been able to use FMS with the example "sample video player". It works perfectly with the mp4 samples of the tutorial. But when I try to put one of my videos the player screen keeps buffering. It's important to highlight that I can play my videos with Windows Media Player (Hikvision provides a Windows Media Player Filter) and a propietary player that this company provides as well.I would like to know if there is a way to set up these codecs into FMS, because I know that FMS supports MP4, but I'd like to specify the codec I just need. Thanks in advance

Hi, I have to stream MPEG -2 video. I want to take mpegts stream as input in FMS. I have udp stream with mpeg 2 video & mpeg 1 audio. Can i transcode mpegts stream with FMS like wowza media server ?Thanks & regards, Anil Maurya
Where is the TTL value for IP multicast datagrams set by FMS 4.5? We are experiencing a situation where IP multicast streams don't seem to work after traversing 5 hops on the LAN even though all are enabled for multicast. The network guys are wondering if TTL is the culprit. We are not using source-specific multicast. Note - I'm not referring to SWF TTL.
