One of the new features of OSMF 2.0 and FMS 4.5.2 is the "Best-Effort Fetch" and "Doneness" capability. When the live stream is done (i.e. "Doneness"), the client player should reach the end of the stream and then stop (done). Instead, it reaches the end of the stream and goes into "Buffering....". You can rewind the stream (DVR mode) and it will replay just fine until it gets to the end. I would like the stream just to end without the "Buffering..." issue. Any ideas?
I would like to stream video with fms 4.5 through a F5 load balancer. The fms 4.5 resided on IP A while the F5 load balancer is resided on IP B. Video request will come to IP B which would then be forwarded to IP A.I tried to set up the fms for the load balancer with the guide provided on F5 website, but to no avail as the guide is actually for fms 3.0. Does anybody know how to set up the fms 4.5 with a F5 load balancer? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

I have installed FMS 4.5 and trying to use my flash recorder app to stream to the FMS to produce an MP4 file. Hi,We've been having problems with our DRM implementation for FMS / OSMF2 / FAX.Having investigated the problem, we've worked out that the root cause is that the NetStream obect within the LightweightVideoElement class triggers a DRMErrorEvent with the errorID 3304 which is not handled in the onDRMErrorEvent function of the same class.Looking at the code, OSMF2 has been developed to handle only the error 3330 and therefore the end result is that our DRM authentication process (normally triggered by event listeners added to the DRMTrait) is not fired.Changing the value of DRMServices.DRM_NEEDS_AUTHENTICATION and LightWeightVideoElement.DRM_NEEDS_AUTHENTICATION to the values 3304 as apposed to the programmed 3330 value resolves all our problems and by adding an event listener to the DRMTriat for the changes in value (DRMEvent.DRM_STATE_CHANGE) and then switching on the event.drmState value, we can now send our authentication details when the drmState = DRMState.AUTHENTICATION_NEEDE
Hi All, I have developed a flash video player based on osmf, and using the FMS 4.5 to stream the videos. The FMS is installed on a separate machine, and we are accessing it from different clients. I am able to stream the flv, mp4 and f4v formats. But when trying to play the f4m file in the player then getting error MediaPlayerState.PLAYBACK_ERROR. Hi all,I need help with a strange issue:I have a FMS 3.5 running a VOD service (on-line training based on videos) on what I call a "streaming server".The client loads the Player from a secure (separate) domain, and the Player then requests the SMIL files from the webroot of the Apache server (part of the FMS installation. The Player then starts the video which is streamed dynamically. In order for the Player to get the SMIL files, it is making a crossdomain.xml request to the Streaming Server. When it get the response, it continues the process.PROBLEM: Sometimes, the crossdomail.xml response from the Streaming Server is SEVERELY delayed, with perhaps 5 minutes. So the end user experience is that it does not work.I improved the situation by opening up more ports on the Windows Firewall of the Stremaing Server (now open for 1935,80,443,8134) and it works say 90%+ of the times. But there are still occations when there is no response.I have not specified a crossdomain.xml file, so the respo

I'm planning to use the FMS/FMG platform to provide internet based VoIP access to my PBX.In order to estimate the cost of such a deployment, I would like to know how many call can be handled by a single FMG as it seems that the FMG is the bottleneck (performing the media conversion). Thanks,Moses

Hi,I've been trying to set up an instance of Flash Media Interactive Server on Amazon Web Services for an AVChat (avchat.net). I signed up for the service here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashmediaserver/amazonwebservices/I have some simple questions on getting it started --- namely: do I create the FMIS instance myself now that I've signed up, or do I need to go ahead and create it?I see under the EC2 tab I can create an instance under 'Community AMIs' for adobe-flashmediaserver-useast/fms-4.0.1.8011-centos-5.5-ami-1.manifest.xmlIs this what I want? I realize this is a bit of a noob question.once installed what I'm trying to do is to add a folder for AVChat into /opt/macromedia/fms/applications/ ( http://avchat.net/support/documentation/#21 ). I am assuming that once I do have this instance running, I can move/modify files on the server instance.thanks, barry
Hello, my question is, can FMS be used for more than just mass distribution of Flash video? Does it support SWF files and e-Learning applications that run in the Flash Player? I have a series of interactive Flash-based training courses and I am looking for a solution to have them run on iOS devices. I know that FMS video can run on iOS, but is FMS a viable solution for my problem?

It seems that I have to delete the folders created in \applictions\livepkgr\streams\_definst_ after most of the live events... If not.. Clients will not see the stream.. I'm sending multi bitrate.. If I delete the two folders and have them re-created themselves I'm good.. If I stop the stream and start it again it's not required.. It almost seems like if after an evening of streaming and I don't delete these folders I'll have to delete them before doing the stream again... Why is this?
how to contact slaes or support ------------------------------------ for FMS only?call adobe is ususally a series of phone loops that end in a disconnecton
I've been using a custom .f4m file for multi bitrate live streaming... I now want to simply stream a single bitrate. My .f4m file is located in the /webroot folder. Someone please post the default config for this file assuming you're only sending one bitrate. Thanks.

I'm looking around to see if anyone has sort of done a crossover or upgrade guide for people with older FMS installations. We've been running the server since at least version 2, and haven't had to change much in upgrading to subsequent versions. In doing so, we hadn't had to change to some of Adobe's newer ways of doing things with regards to configuration files, etc.In setting up a test 4.5.x server, though... it appears we will likely want to really change the way we are doing things.I'm wondering if anyone knows of a comprehensive site that would sort of cover topics in a "if you did this this way before, do it this way now" sort of instructions. Thanks
