Hello! So I have a project due on Thursday so I can really use some help. Every time I open photoshop I am met with this black screen.

I have literally tried everything. I've tried uninstalling photoshop and cloud about 20 times. I've used the adobe cleaner. I've unchecked the graphics processer box. I am desperate. I have no clue how to solve this. I am unable to open any files either, it just stays as a black screen. Please help.

Hi Ella

can you edit your post when logged in here?

If you edit it to give it a descriptive title like "Photoshop - black screen on launch, please help me" you're far more likely to get a solution (and others will be able to search later and see what worked for you).

I did open your post, but may not have - amongst the hundreds or post titles we look at daily its hard to identify ones we can help with if the title is so vague.

If you cant edit the title, send me a personal message (click my name at the top of this post and send from. that screen)  and I'll try do it for you.

I hope this helps

thanks

You can keep the the problem version, you need to provide some information about your computer, I do see you have MacOS. I would need your Mac model and MacOS version to start.

Be sure you are signed in with your Adobe ID and then take a look at this post:

See if downloading an earlier version of Photoshop CC works.  Just click on that 3-dot dropdown menu in your Creative Cloud app and choose "other versions." That will hold you over until an answer is found and at least you can finish your work.

It's always good to have a known good version in case your new install hits a bug as you can see in my screenshot.

Hi, I tried switching to photoshop 21.2 but it didn't work. What version would you recommend? Also to answer your other question, I have a MacBook Pro using macOS Catalina.

Try 20.0.10 as shown in the screenshot. It's a full version down.
