Photoshop window will not move across screen. Windows 11, Photoshop 2023. Tried everything I can think of. Problem persists...

Sometimes this happens when upgrading from Windows 10 to 11.
This seemed to resolve most issues with the snapping.

Try this:
in Windows 11 I had to enable "Show window contents while dragging"
  1. Run (Win+R) SystemPropertiesPerformance.exe to open Visual Effects Performance Options.
  2. In the Visual Effects tab, check (on - default) or uncheck  Show window contents while dragging for what you want, and click/tap on OK.

@chrisv68624024 Yeah, I tried the disable/enable trick but it went back to misbehaving, so I left the box checked.

@DrewRothmanIn my case I was able to turn it right back off again. Just flipping the switch seemed to correct the issue.

I can confirm that re-checking "Show window contents while dragging" does get around the issue. That said, the reason I had it un-checked in the first place was that it had been recommended to disable it for better performance in Adobe Premiere Pro...

Can also confirm, @Dramenon's suggestion worked for me. In my case, I had already turned it off, but toggling it on and back off seemed to fix whatever orphan setting caused the problem.

Big thanks to Daniel Presedo at Adobe, he suggested trying turning off/on the "show window effects while dragging" in my system settings.  It was turned off so I turned it on and it worked.  Again thank you very much.

Terrible workaround here.  I am on a PC. When I want to move the photoshop window, I first maximize photoshop to full screen.  I grab the header bar and drag the window down to pull it out of full screen.  While still holding the window, a white outline of the window is shown and I focus on the top left corner.  I put that corner where I want the window to be and let go of the window.  I then drag the right side and bottom to the size I want.  To move the window without it snapping back, I repeat full size, drag window, and then resize.

Don't have a show window content while dragging option.

Yeah, there is a previous thread about this.

For me, it seems to affect all Adobe Creative products on Windows 11 (i.e. not just Photoshop, but also Illustrator, Premiere, etc.), but it does not do that with the same versions of those products on Windows 10.

The only way to move it is to stretch the window edges one at a time to get it to the desired spot.
