Cloud Documents missing?

So I just lost 3 days worth of stuff for my Adobe Photoshop and I can’t find it?

Basically, I use it for art and I had saved all of it yesterday, I made sure to do it. My laptop is a bit funky so rarely it has a bit of a crashing issue, but it stops after a bit. However, it crashed but this time, it seems 3 days of work is just gone from my laptop. Not in deleted, not in auto-recover, not in any files, it just doesn’t exist? I have proof I’ve done work, I’m pretty sure I haven’t misplaced it in another file, cause I’ve combed through my catalogue.

I noticed the issue when I saw the amount of time on my adobe files and it said “3 Days Ago” even though I did work this morning and I’ve checked my version history on web and on the desktop app and it says I haven’t got any work since 18th September?

I’ve checked my Auto-recovery, no dice.

I’ve tried to check my Adobe Files, haven’t found anything out of it.

I just don’t get it? This hasn’t happened before, I just don’t understand how to recover this?

Photoshop does not have a catalog.

Since you’ve already checked Recent, Version History, Auto-Recovery, and searched Finder for the PSD files, I’d check your Mac backups next if you have Time Machine enabled. That would be one of the few places where an older copy of the files might still exist.

Also, if those were Photoshop cloud documents rather than local PSDs, I’d make sure you’re signed into the same Adobe account and that Photoshop is connected to the internet before doing anything else. I wouldn’t reinstall Photoshop or start deleting files yet, just in case there’s still a recoverable copy somewhere.

The fact that your existing files are showing September 18 as their last date makes me wonder whether Photoshop stopped syncing or saving properly around that point rather than simply losing the files from Finder.

Do you only have one version of Photoshop installed? e.g do you have both release and beta versions?

It sounds like you have checked Recent files on the Home screen and Files > Recent.

Are you on a network?

Have you tried creating a new document and saving it to see the file path?

What operating system are you using? What format would those lost files have been saved as?

It might take a while, but if you searched File Explorer or Finder with *.psd and listed the results in date order...

2026 Photoshop on Mac
I checked both Recent, Files, and I checked two files I have that I used that both have their dates moved back before and on 18th of September
Checked my Open Recent
I’ve opened up Version History on Web and Desktop
I have autosave on so I don’t forget to save.
I checked my Auto-Recovery and I used Finder to see if there was any alterations or any chance, none what so ever.

Like it really sucks.

That sounds really frustrating, especially after three days of work. hopefully the cloud version history or a local backup can still recover it.
