copy of file instead of overwriting

Hi!

When I save as f.i. as a PNG, the programm makes a copy of the file instead of overwriting. Can I solve this problem?

Hi

What exact version of Photoshop and operating system do you have, how exactly are you saving the file, can you post a screenshot to highlight the issue

That is the latest version. I have it if saving as .jpeg, but also as .png

The system asks to overwrite, but still makes a copy

oh, and I work on Mac...
