Deselect guide in Photoshop 2025?

A stupid question: how to deselect a guide after moving it?

Generally speaking, is it possible to have the same behavior of guides as with older versions of Photoshop? In older versions, when a guide was created or moved, it was not "selected" - that is, it did not react to keyboard events for example.

As @Rene Andritsch suggested, just click off the guide with the moVe tool.

The move tool is the essential thing.

@Rene Andritsch  the selected guide can be removed with the DEL key for example, even if a layer is active ("selected" in the layers palette).

@frmorel I was presuming the Move tool was active. The color of the guide tells you if it is selected or not. The colors can be changed in the Preferences > Guides, Grid and Slices…

Clicking somewhere other than on the guide deselects it. What exactly do you mean with your guides are reacting to keyboard events?

Currently you cannot move guides with arrow keys for example. but there is a feature requrst for this you can support by upvoting it: https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-ideas/ability-to-move-cyan-guide-lines-with-arrow-keys/idi-p/13396362
