Eraser Tool Erasing Lines

Okay, so I wasn't having this problem yesterday, but today when I went to a project and I went to erase some things and this happened. I would erase one portion, and then immeditly it would erase a line right where I erased a small section. So anytime I erase, a line erases as well when I don't want it to. So I was just wondering how I could get it to stop. I've restarted my computer and I don't think there is a problem with my brush, because it is doing it with multiple projects. If you could help that would be great!! Thank you!

UPDATE I CANT REPLY SO THIS MIGHT HELP!!

I just unistalled Photoshop and It is working now. That may not be the best option for those who have a bunch of prefrences on theirs, but I'm new to the program so I didn't have troube uninstalling it and reinstalling it! Hope this helps! Thanks to everyone who gave me advice! I really appreciate it!!

That looks quite like when the Shift key is down. Are you using a mouse or tablet?

Exactly the same problem when using mouse. All drawing tools behave the same. With tablet - norm. I went back to earlier issue of PS, until Adobe solves the problem

Ignore the pic lol, it's a project for my graphic design class. This is what the eraser is doing.

Are you by any chance holding down the Shift key?

I have not been. Idk, it does it just randomly after I erase like a simple spot.

"Erases a line" how? Like a row of pixels across the doc?

This sounds odd. You could try reset your Photoshop preferences which may get your tools working as they should:
