Exit Code: 6, Ps Cs5 trial install.

hi, ive downloaded the trial of Photoshop Cs5 but it wont install, i get to about 10% in the install and then i get "Exit Code: 6".

ill begin with my system specs:

(Swedish language) Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 2.40GHz 2.39GHz

4GB Ram

Ati Radeon x1950xTx

Asus P5B deluxe motherboard

1680x1050 Acer P223w screen.

i've cleaned my regestry for problems with "Glarysoft Regestry repair", disabled my ESET NOD32 anti-vir, ran the setup as Administrator, choose to install as trial but i get to about 10% and i get Exit Code: 6.

I found a solution after 2 days and 2 nights.

Just move the installation files to C:\CS5 and run setup from there.

Don't use white space in path name.

Hi,

i tried mulitple possible solutions at once to solve the problem on my Windows 7 x64 System:

Uninstalled all old Versions of Photoshop, CS, ...
Installed all MSI-Packages found in the installation folder Adobe Fireworks CS5\Adobe CS5
Created new DWORD in Registry: HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer with Name - DisableMSI Type - REG_DWORD 0
Deleted all Registry Folders I Found with "fireworks" in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\
Started the installer as Administrator

Hello to everyone!

I think I found the solution... I know that every pc has a uniq solution... but I hope.. my solution will help others, because I lost 2 days reading and trying over and over again to install Adobe CS 5.5 Master... with no success until now. At first I had a lot of errors, warnings and things like that.. warnings that Flash Player was not installed correctly, and so on. I was thinking that my setup file was corrupted because I'v done everything I know and everything that I was reading on forums like this, and no success. I can say that I was very angry to Adobe!!! because I had no success in installing the trial 5.5 Master from their own website! How's that possible? How is that a lot of people have the same problem? I was sure that is not our problem and it was a setup file problem from the start, and adobe made a bad setup, with a lot of problems. Yes... now I think that Adobe it's ok (with only small exception: I'm still not able to download the trial Adobe Master CS5.5 until the end; i get only 1,06 GB from the total of 5,06 GB. I tried with Production suite and from this one i get only 3,05 GB; after that the assistand downloader is stoping with error 108 and things like that. I tried with direct link and the download is still stoping at 1,06 for MC and 3,05 for the other one; it's so strange; maybe is a problem with my internet provider, i don't know, but in the end i got exactly the same install CS5.5 MC, from another site - i'v cheked the setup with MD5 -)

I will try to write here the important things that for me ware with total success, with no errors, only a beautiful 'Thank you' on the screen.

- remove everything Adobe related from 'Control Panel'; after that use WinCS5Cleanupscript (run it as administrator and inside, you will see step 2. for CS5 and 3. for Flash Player);

- remove the folder Adobe from Program Files and also from Common Files;

- remove the folder Adobe from 'C:\Users\your-username\AppData\Roaming'

- you have to be sure that 'Adobe Flash Player' is unistalled, because you will get an error after you will install CS5.5. The error is something about Flash Player cannot be installed. Even if you install manualy using 'AdobeFlashPlayer10_axRel_mul.msi' from the 'payloads' folder, you will get the error with "1722" message. The reason is that the CS5.5 suite has an older version of Flash Player and on your PC, the Flash Player version is up-to-date, is a new version. Even if you get the error about Flash Player, is not a problem. You can read on adobe someware about this error. It's safe.

- YOU HAVE TO disable any spyware, antivirus and firewall from your computer! I'm not sure about the firewall, I think you can leave it enebled, but to be sure.. it's better to have it disabled. The KEY TO SUCCESS in my opinion is the ANTIVIRUS; you have to disable it! That's the problem from the start. If you still have problems and you want to be 100% sure, it's better to uninstall the antivirus and spyware! In my case, disableing the antivirus wasn't enogh! I had to uninstall it! After that EVERYTHING worked perfectly (my antivirus was BitDefender);

- restart your computer;

- after you are back, write CMD in start, rightclick on it and run as administrator;

- open 'Task Manager' and 'END PROCESS' the 'explorer.exe';

- in CMD, write 'explorer' and hit enter; <----- this stepts are to be sure that explorer is runing with administrator rights (elevated mode);

- in CMD write MSIEXEC /UNREGISTER and hit enter; after that write MSIEXEC /REGSERVER and hit enter;

- be sure that Yahoo Messenger, IE, Mozzila and any software like these are closed;

- run the Adobe CS5.5 setup with admin right (right click on it and run as administrator).

I hope I didn't forgot something important to write down.

After everything is successuful you can install your antivirus back .

P.S. My windows is WIN 7 Ultimate 64-bit and I use always the Administrator account. Sorry for my english

Nice of you to follow up.

For what it's worth, you really shouldn't have to disable antivirus software to install legitimate software. If you do, it says that the antivirus software is faulty, and that you should move to a different package of antivirus software. At the very least, you should report the problem as a "false positive" to your antivirus software maker.

I use (and recommend) Avast Pro antivirus on my systems and have never had it interfere with legitimate software installation.

I'm having the same kind of problem while trying to install After Effects. I test all tips mentioned in the thread here already and nothind worked. My Log is a little bit different. From what I see there, the problem seems the installation of an Arabic Font which I have no need for, and I don't think this was already reported here.

I was able to resolve this issue. I received my CS5 suite disk from my work

with a serial number. After installing the software with the work disk, I

received the exit code 6 error. I then downloaded the CS5 suite from

Adobe's website and used the genuine serial number that was provided by my

work. That got me setup. Apparently the disk I received was faulty.

I am having the same problems as posted here.

However, my question is different.

The first time I tried to install the CS5 Collection, the install screen showed ALL the components including Bridge CS5. After attempting to install several times, following the troubleshooting suggestions, now when I try to re-install, Bridge CS5 is not on the list and of course, it is not installed.

The install completes with most of the components installed and those that are installed DO work fine (well at least Photoshop does, the only one I tried).

By the way, the first time I tried the install, Bridge CS5 did install correctly. Of course, in an attempt to fix the problems for the other components, I Uninstalled the whole suite so I could re-try the install. And now it does not show up in the list of components to install.

Any ideas?

I'm not sure this will help, but when reinstall may need to be sure that all

Adobe components are uninstalled; that includes Adobe Air, the bugaboo in my

install problems.

Perhaps a return to a restore point before any CS5 install my help.

I'm just like everyone else on this thread and am having some major issues installing the CS5 Web Premium suite. My job bought a license for my work pc and am attempting to install the dvd software with at home rights. I have an Intel i7 Sony laptop with 4gb ram running windows 7 ultimate. I've tried pretty much everything that has been suggested in this thread, but am completely stuck. If anyone could help me, I'd greatly appreciate it.

My understanding, from what you wrote, is that you do not have admin rights on the laptop? That causes a lot of problems because PS CS5 needs the correct security levels to install.

Now, if you are admin (or try this anyways) is to put the disk in the drive and choose to explore disk. Look for the .exe file (should be in the PS folder?). Right click on this and choose run as Admin. Running software as admin is different then being admin on the computer.

Before you install ensure anti-virus is turned off. If running Windows Defender turn that off.

Try turning off the firewall on the computer before install.

If you have a external hard drive connected then disconnect it.

dec9, thanks for the response. i made sure i was logged into my PC as an admin, ran the exe file as administrator and made sure firewall, antivirus and defender were off but I'm still not able to install the CS5 Web Premium Suite. Whenever I get to the below screen, it always stops and I get the Exit: 7 error. Please let me know if you have any other suggestions:

i dont know why but it worked for me to name one of my harddrives to (H:/)

then it installed correctly

okay guys.

i think i found my problem installing this photoshop.

after my small trial, installing windows 7 over and over again...

i cannot complete installing Ps CS5 because, i have ESRI ArcGIS 9.3 installed in my machine.

i don't know somehow ArcGIS ruined my windows so it cannot install Ps CS5.

if i re-install my windows, and after that i install Ps CS5.. there's no problem.

but if i re-install my windows, and i install ArcGIS 9.3 and then Ps CS5... this installation problem appears.

Did you go into the directory and run eg: Microsoft_MFC_x86_x64.msi ?
