I have a headshot of my mother wearing glasses. When the photo was taken the flash is reflected in her glasses. how do I remove these reflections

@d1esel1 The help pages assume I am familiar with photoshop, which I am not.

The screenshot that you posted a short while ago shows that you are not using Photoshop (PS). Please ask your question in the Photoshop Elements (PSE) forum instead. Here is the link:

    @d1esel1

Here is yet another way to fix glasses glare. This one is an Adobe Help page:

    https://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/remove-glasses-glare.html

Do any of these help you with your mother’s glasses?

I actually tried the clone tool but it kept flashing a small window showing me different brush settings. I sent the screenshot of the page with my mom's photo to show that there are no icons as described by axel to generate ai.

It seems like theres something missing from my app or they're in the background somewherw necessitating that I click something or right click or whatever.

“Reflected flash” sounds like it may be totally blown out, and not even AI can do anything about that. It may put a pair of eyes in there, but it will not be her eyes.

We need to see an example. If it’s as bad as it sounds, careful manual reconstruction is the only way.

As @AxelMatt mentions, AI will probably be your quickest option. Here is a good tutorial that shows a manual method in case you need it for any cleanup AI doesn't handle or if you want to learn the tools.

I’ve take a screenshot from your attached shot and doing some tests.

The result of AI-powered Reflection Removal tool in Camera Raw is very bad. It removes virtually nothing.

In a next step I try the AI Remove Brush in Photoshop. I think The result is impressive.

Which Photoshop version do you use? As I see in your screenshot it seems to be Photoshot Elements. This tools is also available in the newer version of Photoshop Elements;.since at least version 2025.

Actually, not quite. The current implementation of Reflection Removal is designed for, as the first link says,

removing reflections from photos taken through glass windows. This tool eliminates large and prominent window reflections

That wording (“window…large reflections”)  means it is currently designed to remove reflections appearing in glass that completely fills the frame, like looking through a window. But eyeglasses are reflections in a small part of the frame.

There have been a large number of user requests to extend the machine learning model to recognize and remove small reflections such as in eyeglasses. Adobe says removing that type of small reflections is not yet supported, but they would like to get there eventually.

@Conrad_C  you’re right. I don’t have test this, I only read abouve this new tool and see some videos. In some of these videos the Reflection Removal  tool eliminates already reflection of glasses.

Now I’ve tested this for the first time and the reality looks very different.
