Latest PS update has disabled some eyedropper functions

Both PS and PS Beta seem to have disabled some eyedropper functions. I use the eyedropper constantly to check HSB values. Normally when you click on a colour in your photo the values are shown on both the colour wheel and HSB sliders above. In the latest versions, when you click on your photo, the 2 square boxes change colour but the colour wheel and HSB sliders do not respond. 

I tried everything inc a reinstall. In the end I reinstalled the previous version 25.0 and the feature is restored. 

Has anyone else been pulling their hair out trying to find a solution?
