Question

match size of multiple layers

Trying to make a lot of images, all on different layers, the same size. They're the same aspect ration, but I can NOT figure out how to make them all the same size...? Transform only seems to give percentage, not pixel dimension.

thanks

Good question, this is one of those things that is there but easily missed. On the PC do a

    1. ctrl T to transform your layer
    2. click the chain icon(maintain aspect ratio)
    3. right click on the width and change that from percent to another unit

You can also do this quicker by instead doing a ctrl T, then entering for a value in your width followed by the units abbreviation(eg: px), to force this to pixels. I do find it annoying that you have to continuosly keep clicking on the maintain aspect ration, but if you have many of these to do, I suggest recording an action.

Great, I can also type in "px" after number. BUT I recorded an action- typed in the width. But it saved the percentage, and applied that to subsequent layers (which didn't give me the correct size). But at least now I know how to change to pixels in transform, even if I can't automate the process... thanks for quick responses.

Edit the action? Not sure how...I don't see any edit options (even with lots of right clicking!)

If you have a number of steps in the action, you can drag one of the steps of the action to the garbage can and recreate the action by hitting the record button and re-recording the action.  Before you do that, though, I would back up your action to make sure that you still have it just in case you need to experiment.  I would also complete a test run, first.

That could be done in a script.  However making images layers the same pixel size will not make image have the same scale unless there were all shot with the same focal length  lens and focused at the same distance.  You also wrote all the layer are the same size so I don't understand what your question is in reality.

Oh, an action? But transform only gives me percentages... All the images are 3:2, but pixel dimensions are different. I would like to make them all the same (say 600x400). Even an action would have to be applied to each layer individually (which would be ok, if I could figure how to set it up!)

    thanks
