Memory Usage Problem Adobe Photoshop Version: 24.3.0 20230316.r.376 37b4b38 arm64

While sitting idle, Photoshop continues to use greater amounts of memory even though it is not being actively used.  This morning the graphics on my M1 Macbook Pro (16G RAM) had Photoshop using 17.4G of RAM even though I was not using the application.  This is an ongoing problem with Photoshop.

Ditto Kevin (same M1 MPB with 64 GB); no such issues. Not that it is an issue; if PS is running fine, let lt. If you need more memory, quit Photoshop. Currently, PS is running using a mere 1.58 GB of RAM. Of course, NO open images, just PS running in the bkgnd.

Hi @Mark Zealor did you update Photoshop to the latest version since we last talked? Still an issue?

Also you never answered what Mac OS version you are currently running.

If you have updated, go to Photoshop Help Menu/System Info and copy/paste details in a reply. Post only once as the system takes time to process the large amount of data.

I have the same setup as you M1 MBP with 64 GB RAM. I'm not seeing the same memory leaks as you. I've been in PS for hours and it's hanging idle at ~8 GB.

What you're describing sounds more like the Ventura/Monterey memory leak issue on M1 with the 16 GB configuration https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254627682
