P: Missing partner and Firefly models from Generative Fill

Starting from scratch with a blank canvas, there is only Firefly 3 available. No Gemini, no Flux, no Firefly 5. This must be a bug, right?

If you use Generate Image without making a selection then, in the current version (27.6), that is intentional. It was confirmed by Adobe staff in another thread.
To see other models, make a selection first (Ctrl+A will select the entire canvas) and then use Generative Fill from the Edit menu.

Thanks Dave for your reaction. Seems weird to me, but okay. I will use the other way. Thanks.

    Hi,

Except one model, the AI models don't show in Photoshop:

I have logged out/in in CC, restarted PS, but nothing works. How can I fix this?

I have an enterprise plan, that shows no issue. I also have a personal profile, could that be an issue here?

Do you get access to the partner models in Firefly (https://firefly.adobe.com/generate/image)?

Could you post screenshots including the pertinent Panels to illustrate the issue?

Which exact version of Photoshop are you using?

Yes, i get access to every partner model in firefly. I am using the latest Photoshop Beta 27.8.0 as well as Photoshop 27.6.0.

Until a couple of days ago i could use the AI partner models like Nano Banana, flux etc. But now i only see the Adobe Firefly 3 model and nothing else. i have a Pro subscription, 2400+ credits left, restarted many times, signed in and out in the CC app, but nothing works. Any idea anyone?

It is certainly a bug. If you select entire canvas it will only show generate image and then one option, Firefly 3, no partner models. If you substract one pixel from selection, generative fill and all models will be available. I hope it is not something intentional.

    @enagen

In the current release (27.6) using generate image only offers Firefly. However, making a selection, then using Generate Fill from the menus (in Windows Select > Select All then Edit > Generate Fill ) offers the full range of models.

This is because Adobe updated the Contextual Task Bar. The bar only has “Generate Image” as a button, which uses Firefly 3. You have to go to Edit → Generative Fill to get the other models. Generate Image and Generative Fill are 2 different options. Why Fill isn’t on the bar anymore is beyond me.

Hi @AKS666, thanks for flagging this.

What you're seeing in Generate Image is expected — it's an update to the UI that now shows the model being used, which is currently Firefly Image 3. We're aware and are actively working to bring more models to Generate Image, including partner models and Firefly Image 5, in an upcoming release.

Partner models and additional Firefly models are currently only available in Generative Fill and Generative Expand workflows.

For more details on model availability and recent changes, you can visit our help page here

We appreciate your patience and feedback!

[update] My bad: I used ‘generate image’ instead of ‘generative fill’ in the contextual menu. Cause I selected the entire canvas. When I select part of the image and choose ‘generative fill’ I get those models again.
