P: Pen Tool Not Working as it should

I have just updated Photoshop to v22.3 (10 March 2021). When I try to use the Pen Tool it puts the nodes in but doesn't create a linking line. I have closed everything and re-started my PC but the error still there. I've been trying to find a way to report this to Adobe but this is the only feedback area I can find. I have been using Photoshop for over 20 years and using the Pen Tool all that time. I need to complete a job but I'm now stuck as I need this tool.

Can I uninstall this update?

Anyone else having this problem?

Do Adobe monitor this feed?

Hi,

We're happy to announce the release of Photoshop 22.4 which should include the fix for this issue. To update Photoshop to the latest version, you can check: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html

You do not need to work on the Work Path, you just need to keep a work path in the path list. Once there is a work path, you can add paths with + and work on them normally. If you open a file with existing named paths, just click in the image with the pen tool with no paths selected to create a *dummy* work path, and you can then edit any existing named paths.

There always has to be one attack in every thread.

Jumping on the bandwagon. Upgraded to 22.3.1 on a Mac and still the same problem. Only way to start a new connected vector path is to start with a Work Path. I start back with Path 1 and can only get new unconnected points - no bezier curves, no point-to-point connection.

Let’s hope for 22.3.2 …

In the meantime back to the work-around.

The problem persists with 22.3.1...
It worked for 10 minutes, then returned to the previous erroneous behavior.

As has been mentioned several times in the last month.

Making a blank 'working path' allows you to connect your points again in the path you saved.  Appears the app just needs a live working path to be recognized. Just verified on 22.3.

It seems it is predictable and it appears if there is NO Work Path.
