P: Pen Tool Not Working as it should

I have just updated Photoshop to v22.3 (10 March 2021). When I try to use the Pen Tool it puts the nodes in but doesn't create a linking line. I have closed everything and re-started my PC but the error still there. I've been trying to find a way to report this to Adobe but this is the only feedback area I can find. I have been using Photoshop for over 20 years and using the Pen Tool all that time. I need to complete a job but I'm now stuck as I need this tool.

Can I uninstall this update?

Anyone else having this problem?

Do Adobe monitor this feed?

Hi,

We're happy to announce the release of Photoshop 22.4 which should include the fix for this issue. To update Photoshop to the latest version, you can check: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html

For information on other issues fixed with this update, please check: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/fixed-issues.html

I get being frustrated with a bug, but when I have an issue and go to a forum topic on the issue, I generally read the comments.

You do not need to to revert, you merely need to keep a work path in the path list. Create a work path and leave it in the path list, then create as many paths as you need, and name them what you like, as long as there is a work path present, the tool behaves normally.

Does it really overtax you to maintain a Work Path?

This work-around has been mentioned again and again on this thread and so far it seems to be reliable.

I'm having the same issue.... Going back to 22.2 as well

I was able to complete and name a path and paste one path into another and connect them before this happened to me. Once I started to add to this path I've had single unconnected points since. Windows 10 Pro 19042.867 Photoshop 22.3. Going back to 22.2 This type of thing really disrupts a work day and adds unnecessary frustration.

Might be a good idea if a mod stickied the workaround, so it's less easy to miss.

The workaround has been posted in this thread many times. Create a work path and leave it in the path list. All other paths will behave normally with a work path present in the path list.

You need to create another work path with just a point or two, and leave that work path in the path list. You can then work on your named paths normally.

Having the same issue. Installed the latest update to 22.3.1 hoping that would fix it and it still doesn't work. Beyond frustrating.

Same problem as everyone else has stated. The pen tool worked as normal in my initial path (work path) but as soon as it's named, I just get points, and they don't connect. macOS Catalina 10.15.7 and Photoshop 22.3.1.
